Just curious. I found out through the Economic Policy Journal Podcast. I was surprised it took me so long to find out about Bitcoin since I have been very involved in economics & computer science for quite some time.
Would love to hear how you found out about Bitcoin.

My first real bitcoin disclosure was from episode 287 of Security Now in February 2011. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQPSwA2ItbsI don't watch the show regularly, I just happened across it. Well, I'm really into "security" news etc.
I've read articles about some hacks where vast amounts of Bitcoins have been stolen, until then I did not really know what Bitcoin is,
so I started to dig deeper and deeper...
And here I am.

Read about it in a magazine, though I don't recall which. I work in cryptography, have a background in law, lean slightly libertarian and consider economics fascinating. Perfect fit.
