Nothing will happen unless you dtraw attention to yourself. If you make a scam attempt, start posting in another language, join a different signature campaign and start posting shit.

It's fine to change the address. Nothing bad will happen. Maybe you might be a little untrusted when making trades for the next month, though.

its ok to change your password and btc address as long as you can sign a message from the old address to prove that you are the real owner of the account.
for a month period after changing the password, a note will be written in your trust informing other member to take care when they deal with you and make sure you are the real owner

Nothing will happen to you?

Do you actively trade or make transactions of some type on here? If so you will probably have to ensure you use escrow as on your profile it'll say in yellow font for a while that you've changed your password.

I've used hundreds of bitcoin addresses in my time here so changing that won't make anybody distrust you.

The forum was hacked before last summer, and everyone with passwords below a specific strength was advised to change them. Most of the forum must have changed their passwords then, so nobody will care if you have changed yours. Everyone else has, including me.

If you change your BTC address, you need to post it in the meta thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0. This will help you to recover you account at anytime if in case it's hacked. Changing your password doesn't matter unless you have tried to scam anyone here and then people doubt if you have sold your account.

The two things like changing your BTC address and password don't make anyone appear to be a scammer but these are ways to track users who scam on the forum.

I would advise you to sign a message from your old address and say that you are going to use a new address and then post the signed message in here so we know your account is still yours and you won't get trouble with it.

I spilt milk on an old laptop that had the bitcoin core & the bitcoin address I used on here some time ago. I didn't have a back up of that wallet so I can't sign a message on that address.

I do still have an even older bitcoin address on a PC that I used to transfer bitcoin's to the 'lost address' literally 2 years ago though.

I don't trade or anything any way & I am not selling my account so it doesn't really affect me but my only point was you can't dismiss somebody who can't sign a message on their old bitcoin address that they typed here.

I'm a long term, trustworthy member here & I don't have the address I used here originally Smiley

I had to send a photo of the old damaged laptop & a photo of my new replacement laptop with the receipt & date of purchase to a signature campaign manager so I was allowed to change my bitcoin address to receive signature campaign payment Grin Grin

Nothing will happen. People will know that you have changed your password as their is log that keeps track of when people change their passwords. Don't worry, it doesn't say your password on it. Other than that, there is nothing that will change. Just wondering, why do you want to change your password and Bitcoin address? Do you own a bought Bitcointalk account?
