btc install mac or linux web server?

Im keen to start with the whole bitcoin thing, but i don't know how
i can install it on my mac, or linux web server? is there a step by step guide
that is available, or someone in the know willing to spare a little time to show me how to install
this.

You shuld to compile and run it.
For example gentoo-way (it dad been placed at booboo overlay)

Thanks for your reply, but im a total newb at all this coding stuff,
so i can't really put your knowledge to good use, due to my non existent knowledge
of install programs from cmd line,

If there is a step by step guide or something i could use,
ive tryed following some directions which some fellow members have told me in the chat room
but i, still failing to get this working.

Web-server? May be you should use SSH to upload bitcoind to it?.. 
You can get Bitcoin for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux from bitcoin.org.
