Hi!

There is a sites listed in the hidden wiki, where you can buy amazon giftcards for half price.
How can this be possible and are that serious deals or not?

While I wouldn't dare to try this because I don't want to become associated with "tainted" bitcoins, I am curious to know what others think of it and if anyone has actually tried it.  Wink

The giftcards are very likely bought with stolen credit cards and will only be valid for a short time. The deal is serious in the sense that you will get a giftcard and pay bitcoin for it.

Alternativle the giftcards are bought from people that see no or less value in them and resold for bitcoin. These giftcards would sell for over 50% though. Amazon money is not the same as regular money.

While I wouldn't dare to try this because I don't want to become associated with "tainted" bitcoins, I am curious to know what others think of it and if anyone has actually tried it.  Wink

"tainted" bitcoin?

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

People had reported that even buying through purse.io is a bit dangerous because of this, likely bought in illegal way.
Maybe you will receive the goods that you wanted but after a time you may have trouble with the laws.

Don't do it. Its just not worth the trouble. Amazon gift cards are very popular therefore its easy to sell them for 80% of their actual value. So anyone selling for much less is very likely to be scamming.

They are probably serious but I am pretty sure that those gift cards were obtained illegally. Either those were stolen gift cards or bought using a hacked credit card. You'll just encounter a problem if you are using such gift cards and in some cases, that might brought you to jail. Better to be safe buying on market price than to be sorry buying cheap ones.

This would be so risky. I assume if you put some of these stolen cards on your account and they
come up stolen you can get in some serious trouble and even best case you will have to say where
you got them and how.

those cards are obtained using illegal methods, either bought with hacked creditcards or via social engineering tricks, buying them is like throwing your money, after you apply them to your account ey will removed within a day or week.

I have also seen several using purse.io for discounted gift cards but with some issue later. It is safer than buying in tor or hidden darknet sites. In darket most of those cards are bought from stolen credit cards or paypal.

Do not try those offers,
The cards are either socially engineered or bought with stolen credit cards.

The person that is selling the cards to you is just looking for a way to wash his illegally made money by selling them for Bitcoin so that his IP can't be traced.

This transfers the risk entirely to you. You may come under police investigation for credit card fraud because you own stolen cards.

If you look closely at purse.io you see that in reality very few deals are that high "50% off deals". Majority is standard 5%-10%.
In general I would be careful with every 'too good to be true' deal you can find outside legitimate distribution channels (purse.io is not official Amazon gift card reseller either).

They are almost certainly from stolen credit cards. You might get away with using a few of these but sooner or later, you will run into someone who checks their CC bill and reports the charge. It could get traced back to you and a detective may give you a call. Or Amazon will just shut down your account and take all the funds.

It's too good to be true man, either that card bought using stolen CC or they are fake cards Wink
I suggest to stay away from it, having risk of your account getting banned is not a worth it risk just for some cheap cards Roll Eyes
Although, you can try purse.io they can give you about 10$ discount if im not wrong Wink
