U.S. Secret Service Bans Certain Gold and Silver Coins On eBay
by Jon Matonis [Bitcoin Foundation board member]

The article itself doesn't mention Bitcoin by name but does describe how:

Quote
Decentralized and digital currencies without a single point of failure are starting to show some resiliency to arbitrary and capricious shutdowns.

U.S. Attorney Anne M. Tompkins declared:

Attempts to undermine the legitimate currency of this country are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism. While these forms of anti-government activities do not involve violence, they are every bit as insidious and represent a clear and present danger to the economic stability of this country. We are determined to meet these threats through infiltration, disruption, and dismantling of organizations which seek to challenge the legitimacy of our democratic form of government.

this is sickening.

As far as I'm aware not a single central bank chief from around the world is elected using a popular vote. Instead they're all appointed on the recommendations of vested interests.

I'd love to be able to vote to stop the money printing insanity!

This is funny. Scare Iran, Libya, India for using gold to trade oil. Never mind China Russia they are too big, besides we owe them money. He wait, lets go after some lowlife nerds and set an example, Lets call it domestic terrorism.

Memo: remember to cancel the internet subscription for the FEMA camps, we don't want them to start an exchange or a new ponzi.

Actually, if you follow their logic they'd have to arrest Ben Bernanke and infiltrate, disrupt and dismantle THE FEDERAL RESERVE, because they are clearly attempting to undermine the legitimate currency of that country and these attempts are simply a unique form of domestic terrorism.

Yes, the US Government's hatred and contempt for people who mint coins that look almost exactly like government-issued coins complete with a dollar face value, encourage others to pass them off as US dollars, and sell those coins to people in on the scheme at significantly less than the face value so they can make money by doing so is utterly reprehensible.

Because of course that's what Bernard von Nothaus did and what he was convicted for. He's even on film demonstrating this himself for the cameras, using a Liberty Dollar for payment at a store that had never heard of them and describing it to the confused shopkeeper as "the new dollar", to show how easy it was.
