I cannot get my new ATI 6990 card to work in Debian 6.

When I try to use the miner it only finds my CPU.

I also tried Boinc and it didn't detect my card either.

Please help me get my miner to work.

Thats correct, 2.1 is no good for 6990.

I really struggled with installing some 6990's because although there are instances of people having various versions of the ATI working (2.3, 2.4) installation also seems slightly broken I was actually on the point of returning my 6990's as "unfit for purpose" I was so mad. And I consider myself quite a strong linux guy!

My solution was to use the linuxcoin distribution. (search for it on the forums here.) It comes preinstalled with everything you need and most importantly works with 6990. Of course its not ideal if you ware expecting to use this on your day-to-day desktop machine.

M.
