Block reward halving would be the main driver, but there are other reasons like increasing transactions, more awareness, etc.

The chances in my opinion of Bitcoin reaching $1000 this year are slim. If we are to reach it at all it will before the halving in June. I think we may go to around $650-$750before the halving if we're lucky but it won't last.

Correct, i think it's fair to assume we will reach a new 2 year high this year.
I think 1000 USD is a bit on the high side, but 700 USD should be possible with 'ease'

Halving of the block reward in July'2016 will have some effect on the price but it might have been priced in already, since these things take some time for market to digest. The last time we had a halfing event in late 2013, the price didn't move: six month before the halfing is when price went up (and down, of course we're talking about bitcoin), six months after the halfing in Nov'2013, we had a major price movement all the way to 240 from 20 in April 2014, if I remember correctly.

You're right about the bot, it was manipulated. but last month's increase was all about supply and demand.
So in that regard you are wrong, the price rise now is caused by whales buying in.

It's very unlikely. It means bitcoin has to double in volume at least 1 time.

speculation and the media will play a big role in the before halving price. if there is enough speculation that it will possibly break through $2000, then we will hit $1000 easily. for that to happen we need the media to cover bitcoin just like they did the previous time when bitcoin reached $1000.

Surely bitcoin will hit the headlines again when it hit $1000 price levels. But we need to take it into it's previous high. Just a another bump will lead bitcoin's price to those magic price levels for sure. Halving and recent hash rate increase are some of launch pad towards $1000.
