So as the title says What are the chances to reach 1,000$ this year ? in your opinion ?
I know we are probably not going to reach that before the halving block reward but well .. do we have any chance to reach that price before the end of the year ?

Bitcoin can reach everything depending from some factors. First of all (which have even the most higher percentage in overall percentage of all factors) is its spread and its use. The spread will bring new people in it which will want to have at least 1 of it. The use will increase the need to have more and continually. Otherwise have not nothing to use. The rhythm of the increase of two factors will rule about 80-90 percent (according to me) the increase of price. More higher will be spread and the use more higher the price. Even more fast. Then in the long term the most important one (even more important of the above) is its regulation and legalization in at least the most developed countries. Without this factor bitcoin will have always a dubious status which can affect not few everything has to do with it.

As about the halving normally can be an increase. But the figures it is hard to be calculated since don't exist data to be analyzed. There can be told something in favor of increase because of the double amount of transactions in 2105 compared to 2014. But yet is not clear the structure of this increase. Are the same people who use more the bitcoin or are new people who want to own it and have increased the real demand. For sure are both but only this cannot give nothing regarding the price after halving. We cannot know what is the real demand for bitcoin. And this make difficult a based forecast of its price after the halving.

speculation and the media will play a big role in the before halving price. if there is enough speculation that it will possibly break through $2000, then we will hit $1000 easily. for that to happen we need the media to cover bitcoin just like they did the previous time when bitcoin reached $1000.

Surely bitcoin will hit the headlines again when it hit $1000 price levels. But we need to take it into it's previous high. Just a another bump will lead bitcoin's price to those magic price levels for sure. Halving and recent hash rate increase are some of launch pad towards $1000.

for sure. the only downside from the media is that it will also bring in yolo investors that will sell their coins directly once the bitcoin price doesn't go up as much as they were hoping for. we have also seen this when bitcoin reached $1000 in 2013. these kind of "investors" are very impulsive and can't handle dumps. they sell instantly when the price goes down.

As i think after block halving there is good chance for it to reach over $1000.

Provably no it will not happen 1000$ is high maybe in the future but for now we need to wait for halving ends and it will rise above 500 to 600.

As i think after block halving there is good chance for it to reach over $1000.

I think we will reach it before or during the halving. And I hope for more because we will see some greedy guys cashing out.
Thefore a new ATH could be helpful to reach nice valued low after these dumps have happened.

I think the chances of reaching $1,000 sometime this year were good even if there was no halving happening this year. The fact that the halving is happening pretty much guarantees it in my amateur opinion. I think the biggest rise in price will come a few months after the actual halving as it did at the last halving.

Else momentum will be gone and we have to wait again.

Other than block halving, the new ASICs and world stock slow down are other supporting events which are highly positive for bitcoin prices to reach $1000 levels again. I strongly believe, before halving itself bitcoin prices will test $1000 levels.

actually i see some of people who speculate bitcoin will be reach to $1000 again in this year several times
but i'm not so sure it would be happen in this year
