Already switched my home PC to linux mint. I can only recommend it. For casual users (FB'ers) it does everything.

It will take some time before I can do everything I need to in linux, but windows is dead to me with win 10 spying and other insanity and Linux Mint is the future.

How will Microsoft ever get hold of your private keys, if you never go online after you created your paper wallets? It's physically impossible to do that.. 

You have to be smart, when you dealing with any proprietary operating system, where you do not have access to the source code, to see what they doing. The US based

companies all have to work with their government to combat terrorism and that includes allowing some access to people's information.

I did not upgrade my OS from windows 7 to 10 because of this bad reputation that win 10 have.
I am willing to start using Ubuntu soon to avoid all Microsoft problems with security

This isn't something that is new to Windows 10 and has been known about for years. In fact Microsoft state this on their website, it is a "feature" of BitLocker encryption. If you're worried about this then don't use BitLocker. Also Bitlocker is not activated by default, perhaps it is on new Windows 10 machines that you buy, but I did a fresh Win10 install and Bitlocker is disabled and I was never prompted to enable it.

Exactly my story, I love windows 7, but MS seems to be going backwards now instead of forwards and they are being super Orwellian to boot.

I used to use Ubuntu, but I have switched to Mint now.
Mint sits on top of Ubuntu and focuses on usability - so basically it has everything Ubuntu has + more and it's more polished.

I think you will honestly enjoy it more.

(I have no "stocks" in Mint, I'm just really blown away by how user friendly Linux has become/can be and need to share it )

It's just an article created to cause a bit of unneeded panic among some non-tech Bitcoiners. This was already known months before this article has popped up. A very late and tame article....

I am still using Windows 7, and will continue doing so as long as Microsoft supports it. Not sure what I will use after this, perhaps going to give Ubuntu a try again, but not sure how much it has changed since I haven't used it for like 2 years.
