There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

RULES on the Information Superhighway

100 NEVER EVER sell your Magic Money Making Machine (MMMM) : IF you find someone who is selling its MMMM it is NOT a MMMM in real life
200 GOTO 100

If that were true, then they never sold Whatsapp to Facebook. In our industry Jed Mccaleb would not have sold Mt. Gox to Mark Karpeles.

This place is crowded with scammers and shady people.
I really don't think it is even close to being worth as much as you guys suspect it is.

The only real revenue it produces is through ads from dubious gambling site operators.

I think if site was for sale right now there will be investors who would pay 1 or 2 millions (2k-4k in Bitcoin)right  away without bargain.
It is safe to assume that certain bitcoin entrepreneurs like Roger Ver would buy it for even more. I am not here to comment on legal status of the domain as I don't care.

Please quote in BTC.
I would have to put the value of Bitcointalk at around 37,500 BTC at this time.  There is a lot more potential for the site and I do not think it is being used to its full potential.  There are parts of Bitcoin that I think need corrected, but it is not my place to say.
You are joking.  I have a friend who recently sold her pharmacy for around USD$500,000 and it is in a pretty affluent section of an affluent state with good cash flow and no debt.  I have a hard time believing that this website would be worth $17,000,000 or anywhere close to that.  If Theymos got that as an offer he should take it and never look back.

This is some good and important reference and so is worth quoting Smiley
In case you think the buyer will also get the donations then the assumption is wrong because there is no fool to donate 5k $ or 20k $ to some forum. It was done when the price was significantly low.The site is not worth that much.

I stand corrected! Maybe their registrar accepts multi-sig verification of requests for changes to the domain ownership etc. Certainly if they formed a company for the administration of the domain/forum, the domain would have been transferred to that company.

Please quote in BTC.

1000BTC ($430,000) for now, but with modern UI that people want & more advertising, bitcointalk.org could worth up to 12500BTC ($5,375,000)
But some website (site price worth website) said bitcointalk.org had value about $300,000 to $1,200,000.
BTW, this website generates that much amount of money in 1 year(by selling ad spaces). Don't you think 1000BTC would be too low for that much earning, you cannot expect ROI withing an year.
I would have paid up to 5000BTC for the forum(only if I had them).

I think the price of this site depends on the unique visitors and daily users visit this website for signature campaign and knowledge about bitcoin.
Once similar or more good looking and feature website comes then this website could be replaced although the domain name would still be much worth lakh's.

Although those big figures some people mentioned seem fair for me, there's a huge risk in buying a site like this in this moment, Bitcoin is clearly at a crossroad and one could argue that it's reaching its peak. On the other hand we know it's resilient and it can survive another "death". With the halving incoming I think it's not very wise to invest millions of dollars into a highly volatile business that is having a war at its center but that's just me.

The bottom line is, to make an offer one must know what's the yearly income/profit from the site, with proofs and all ins and outs. After that it's just a matter of calculating the ROI and take the risk.
