I am new here as I have come in search of help.

I used Intesango a few times and it was fine until they had their bank issues.

They then kept my funds and would not release.  They closed my support tickets.  After some time they said problems resolved - they still did not release my funds or give bitcoins.

They then said I had to provide phot ID that matched bank account.  After some debate I did so.  The closed my ticket again.  After getting it re-opened they said the picture was not clear enough - it was very clear.  I got a high res pic and sent that through.  They closed my ticket again and also closed my account.

I managed to use the old links to the support ticket to upadate them and re-open them.  Now they say I had to provide IBAN and SWIFT codes and they will refund.  I have and they haven't.

They have kept my money for many months now and are just playing games.

Please can someone tell me who I can complain to in some official way - is there a body that I can get hep from?

Im not sure if there is much you can do here.  I used to trade a lot through Intersango then they started having their bank issues.  I think you best bet will be get your IBAN code and send it to them.  This will allow international transfers you can find the IBAN on your online banking or if you don't have it just go into a branch and ask....

Trading Standards would be a good start. Plus you can also take them to the small-claims court. This second option is actually quite effective, and the last time I used small-claims against someone who owed me money it cost £35 and the costs were paid back by the other party when I won the case.

Thanks for the help:

Aldur1 - I have already provided them with these details twice.  They asked for them to wire the money, but are simply ignoring me now.  They have even closed my account so I can't log in, but luckily the links to tickets still let me access them, which I am sure is not as intended.

salty - I may have to do that, it is frustrating that companies like this can basically take you money.  I may be able to get it back, but I have nearly given up many times and I am sure a lot of people do and they just get to keep money.

Buy BTC from your funds, move BTC out of that exchange and never look back.

This person (who shall remain nameless) made a transfer to the Intersango LTD account at Metro Bank.

The transfer not include the correct reference code.

Instead of a reference code the message field was set to "SILK ROAD".

As for the photo id, the images he provided were blurry and overly cropped, when we requested he provide a higher quality photo he sent the exact same picture... twice.

That being said he did finally provide high resolution pictures of his photo id and will be receiving an international wire just as soon as they're available in GBP.

I expect that to be sometime in January 2013.

 Roll Eyes

Now that is pretty pretty stupid. I'm going to side with Intersango on this, if this was me I woulda sent that wire STRAIGHT back for this alone.

I assume you work there?  If so, I find it rather strange that you post details of the transactions on here.  Regardless of what any reference is I still have no money or coins.  I have had my account locked so I can't even update my support ticket, or read it.

So, please tell me what I am meant to do now?  If you can't it will have to be court as I am reading things like this about intersango all over the place.

Still no refund and a load of ridiculous excuses.

It seems very clear that the excuses are just to fob me off (and possibly others)  as they seem to have zero intention of refunding my money.   Does it really take multiple months to transfer money because there is a queue?  Ridiculous.

I think most people would interpret this as theft, I certainly feel like I have been robbed by a thoroughly untrustworthy organisation.

My advice to anyone would be to avoid Intersango at all costs

Did you go to the police yet to complain they thwarted your attempt to buy drugs?
