Sometimes picture is worth more than thousand words. Here's pretty nice infographic comparing sizes of total world's money and various markets. Bitcoin on top.

Bitcoin:  a mole on the ass of the flee on the ass of the elephant of derivatives.

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

Bitcoin:  a mole on the ass of the flee on the ass of the elephant of derivatives.
Well-said.  And it's not surprising that derivatives are as big as this.  Long Term Capital Management was brought down by their super-sized leveraged derivatives in 1998 and it almost crashed financial markets around the world.  Crazy.

I'm surprised to read that the derivatives markets are 9 times larges than all stocks markets, because derivatives aren't legal everywhere. The actual, real money involved, as a down payment, should be only a fraction of that amount.

I used to be a citizen and a taxpayer. Those days are long gone.

All this shows me is that it has a lot of room to grow, which is a good thing.

Also..... how filthy rich some people are

I think your predictions is too much. 10k per coin for bitcoin is really overpriced imo.

I do agree we need more people to adopt bitcoin. So we can see the real price of bitcoin.

When distribution is healthy, that the real value of bitcoin.

Wow, great comprehension. It shows how big the potential of Bitcoin and crypto currencies in common is.
Just take the current market cap of the most valuable crypotcurrency 2.0 framework Ethereum for example. You will hardly see its dot on this depiction Smiley

it really is not, at 10k per coins, you will have only a marketcap of 140B which is still a very young marketcap

10k stable(not as a peak, which can enter much early) value is expected to enter in 2028 with the halving

Bitcoin can be compared to other fiat money and marketcaps but bitcoin is really very new comparing to others, since the supply is fixed then bitcoin price should worth hundreds of thousands of dollars to worth a lot and being compared with fiat.

Bitcoin will definitely grow, and it is right now in its bull cycle. The Chinese and other smart money is buying slowly in order to avoid spiking the coin to heights and limitations in amount of money transfer is halting this further.

The next recession will definitely super spike the demand and it will be during this time wealth will shift from fiat into Bitcoin as well as Gold, silver, etc.

PM me if you wish for me to advertise you

The Fed's balance sheet looks pretty small to me.
I had the impression that it would be a lot bigger, more than 5 times the market cap of companies like Apple and Google.

Jesus that is a huge chart.

I'm not surprised that Bitcoin has about a $5b market cap, I kind of wished it was a little larger, but it all makes sense. We'll see a larger cap as time wears on. I am fairly confident in this statement.

Its also quite interesting to see the total value of a lot of the different commodities. I've always wanted to see a chart like this, but never found all the required information. Very cool to see.

But why are you so confident in this expected value of $10k by 2028? There are theories that it should have been over $5000 in last year alone.

i'm saying that by 2028, the price have like 99% chance of being stable at 10k, this does not preclude the possibility to have it stable before, but the chance get lower, the more you reduce the time frame

Exactly my thought. I mean most of us know that Bitcoin still is very very tiny in terms of market cap compared with all the other markets. But having such a visualization for that only backs up how much space and room there is for Bitcoin to grow regarding it's enormous potential.

There is room to grow, but will Bitcoin grow?
Silver's market share is way smaller than gold's.
We have to overtake silver first.  Smiley
