Mining Userbars
I was bored, thought the other userbars were ugly, here's what came out.

Supported Pools
  • BTC Guild
  • Deepbit
  • Slush

Things to come
  • More pools supported
  • Different styles of userbars available

An example is in my signature. You can make your own at my site.

Any suggestions, comments, criticisms, etc. are welcomed.

Fixed the numbering, no longer has a billion places after the decimal. Also added GH/s notation for people pulling over 1000MH/s.

I'm on slush's pool and it keeps saying I'm offline.  Do I have to wait a little while for it to update?

That's weird, PM me your API key so I can check its parsing the JSON right.

Everyone knows that a Gigahash/byte is 1024 of the Mega's, right?  I hope you just typed 1000MH/s as a round number.

EDIT: I see you are using API tokens, so the pools are reporting what they are reporting.  Tongue

I disagree.  Technically kilo as a prefix means 1000 in all cases.  There is an informal understanding that in some situations to do with bit and byte, the prefixes represent 1024, but this is officially incorrect (according to SI) and kibi, mebi, gibi, et cetera should be used instead.

There is certainly no issue with the unit 'hash'.  Like 'watt' and 'hertz', the prefixes work in base 1000.

I understand what you're saying, teukon.  But now I wonder how the client and the pools are using the prefixes.  This matter is so trivial, that I'm not even going to waste time finding out. Cheers!

No, the powers of 2 rule only applies to bytes.

bits as are used in network transfer rates use powers of 10 (a megabit is 1,000,000 bits, not 1,048,576), as do all other units. (including octets, which are not the same thing as bytes).

You definitely use base 2 only in the case of bytes Tongue And I also fixed the bug when parsing Slush's JSON it was just a small typo.

Bitcoins.lc doesn't provide any JSON data (that I can find) about worker's mining rates so I can't make one for that pool yet.

I think I fixed the deepbit issue (again, a stupid typo) and I'll look into adding Triplemining. Looked into Triplemining, was unable to find JSON data for the workers. I can only add pools if they provide JSON data about the workers.
