Merkel really has lost her marbles. Actually the influx of refugees and the invasion of migrants is one problem. The open borders is another problem. The only solution (if solutions are possible) is to renew border controls so that only people with honest ID can pass easily.

The Schengen agreement made it easier for EU members to seek employment in member countries. That's OK. However many thousands of these cross the border every day to go to work in their neighbouring country. That's OK too but they will just need to show their ID each time - which is a slight nuisance but not the end of the world.
