Nothing AMD can match the hash/watt of the Maxwell based Nvidia cards on X11.

Perhaps the next AMD generation will fix that.

I guess you haven't been reading this forum than.

Those results aren't even with the new Kachur bins.

Thanks guys for all of your suggestions.

Well, I would like to ask one more question. Is AMD Radeon R9 270x vapor best for x11 mining right now?

I think it has pretty good hashing power and it is more energy efficient too. Also it is used by Genesis Mining too.

Waiting for your recommendations on it along with its pros and cons.

Pros for the 270 over the 270X:

Pro:  The 270 has exactly the same hardware resource back end that the 270X has:  1280SPs/80TUs/32ROPs on a 256bit memory bus.  Both are Pitcairn chips.

Pro:  The 270 can have better hash/watt than the 270X.  The 270 has a 150W TDP (1 6pin connector) versus the 270X with a 180W (2 6 pin connector).

Pro:  The 270 should be cheaper than the 270X.

Cons:  None.  You can clock your 270 up to 270X clocks and get exactly the same amount of hash rate as the 270X, all the while not needing that 180W TDP / 2nd 6pin connector.

That's a no BS explanation so far. Thanks atp1916 Smiley
Btw, is 1 6pin connector sufficient if I think of overclocking at later dates?

So do you recommend mining with 270 for x11 and x13 algorithms?
Or is it still profitable for mining other algorithms like Script, Quark, Momentum, etc.?

1 6pin is definitely sufficient for 1100/1500 @ stock volts, even with 20% powertune.  In the case of the Asus DirectCUII 270 cards, stock volts is 1.215  Shocked  That's more than i was running my HD7950s at!

Back when i had my farm operational, a couple of my rigs were full of 270s and i had no issues taking them up to those clocks on stock voltages.   In the end though, i bios-modded them down to 1.05v for 1000/1250 where they were most hash/watt efficient.    I got them down to roughly 120w each, which was pretty nice. I do not remember what they were hashing out at though, so keep that in mind.  FWIW, these were Asus DirectCUII and MSI Gaming 2G 270s.

As for the mining recommendation: I am not up on my coins these days, so i cannot give any recommendations on which coin to mine.  You're on your own there.

A quote from that thread :

"The numbers you posted put it on par with the GTX980 but at a much higher price. Considering the 980 is 1 1/2 years old,
and second in line, that isn't much to brag about. Will you be testing with the new miner? That might look more impressive."

And the competative numbers seem to be specific to that one card.

It's possible the X11 numbers have gotten some AMD optimisation I didn't notice, but I have to wonder how much of the numbers is client updates and how much is that one specific EXPEN$$$$IVE card?

BTW - I'm actually overall an AMD fan, my RC5 (Distributed.net) farm is ALL AMD 'cause Nvidia isn't even in the same country on that particular project, much less in the same ballpark, but right now there are a lot of places Nvidia rules (mostly stuff I don't do though).
There are times I think Intel should licence Nvidia GPU cores to use on their "integrated graphics" stuff, since Intel graphic always have been and remain a sad pathetic JOKE.
(Since the AMD aquisition of ATI, there's no possibility of Intel using GPU cores from their primary competition).
