Islamic State claims Jakarta attack, targets Indonesia for first time


Islamic State said it was behind an attack by suicide bombers and gunmen in the heart of Jakarta on Thursday, the first time the radical group has targeted the world's most populous Muslim nation.

Just seven people were killed despite multiple blasts and a gunfight, and five of them were the attackers themselves, but the brazenness of their siege suggested a new brand of militancy in a country where low-level strikes on police are common.

It took security forces about three hours to end the attack near a Starbucks cafe and Sarinah's, Jakarta's oldest department store, after a team of militants traded gunfire with police and blew themselves up.

Their original plan was to make a "Bomb Concert" on Christmas & New Year's Eve. But most of the members have been arrested by the police before that. Luckily it happened in broad daylight near a police station.

Killing each others for any reason will not stop the problems for which they are fighting. Anyone who is being killed now a days and killing others will never get peace with any reason. Those who attacked in the Islamic state Indonesia they themselves lost their lives then what is the gain.

looks like the attackers are also working to flood social media / news with misinformation too, and the military seems to have stepped into the areas near the attacks.
i really would not be surprised if these continued ISIS attacks eventually led to a third world war at this point, looks to me thats what theyre aiming for.

They were well prepared, sure yeah. But they failed to anticipate the quick response of the security forces. As you can see on that video, they were all cornered, and that bomb was prematurely exploded.

In their base camp in Syriah, ISIS can't make any attacked to chaos the people. They choose their target to countries outside Syria such as Southeast Asia where the majority of population is moslem. There are several ISIS growing cells to create chaos as it happened in Jakarta overnight.
