Is there such a thing as a hedge fund for bitcoin  Huh

Which companies have this option and is it really advantageous to have one as opposed to the other money mart accounts?

Yes there is, although I can't point you to one off the top of my head. A couple years ago though I was talking with a guy who was starting a bitcoin hedge fund in new york, and I was considering working for him but I ended up taking another job instead.

By "bitcoin hedge fund", do you mean an ETF like GBTC?

No, i do not want to put large amounts into ETF.
Only minimum amount to see if it does stay as it was when I put it in even if price drops while it is still there.

On Genesis? If so then I would like to know if they will be.  As far as I know they have not revealed publicly to a new market account with this being offered as of yet.

It's impossible because hedge funds trade many different stock, not just Bitcoin.
You should do some research before asking a question mate.

This is why I am asking this question. I want to know if there is one specifically for bitcoin no other.
I don't want the up&down of its price to affect my investing in the long run.
I have done the research but there is no such resource because it seems that companies don't want to be involved with such risk associated with it for offering such a fund.

This would be interesting, they have been quiet for a bit since opening and I wonder what they have up their sleeve.  Like them or not I think they are in it to win it with BTC.

They could buy stocks in bitcoin related companies.. Your assumption that bitcoin can be compared to a stock is wrong. Bitcoin is not a stock.

There are enough companies sprouting to make this possible and VC is already entering this market.

Hedge funds are unregulated, pooled money investment vehicles, which can invest in just about anything.
Your assumption of them investing only in stocks is wrong.

Does anybody have an answer on this or a lead of some sort?
It seems that only winklevoss crew might be in the works of doing this but is there an alternative now to be able to do this?
Thanks for the previous feedback on this topic. It is much appreciated.

If you want to invest in the BTC ecosystem, just buy bitcoins.
We have already seen that bitcoin acts like a "safe-heaven" currency (like during the chinese "crash" where all stocks lowered and BTC skyrocked).

There's lots of talk from 'insiders' about hedge funds taking positions. That could be total bilge but it's chump change for some of these guys and they might take a personal position at least. Hedge funds don't advertise much at the best of times. There are quite a few hits if you google it and a few touting for business but they might be total scams for all I know. I would've thought 'proper' funds don't bother marketing themselves too much.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were quite a few
Bitcoin is a pretty safe investment. With large amounts of money it would be considerably safe to invest in. Buy low sell high, repeat don't need alot of profit to put in the pot as long as it is constantly gaining.
