Bored tonight figured why not build a chatroom we all can vent or whatever about Bitcoins!

Yes, I know about the Freenode just thought I would do another chatroom people can pop'in and out don't know like I said bored haha...

edit: first to try it out first person gets 0.02 Bitcoins!

I don't know why you used Java for this. A lot of people don't install it due to the hundreds of vulnarabilities that have been discovered in it. There are a bunch of flash-based chatrooms you could use instead.

Yes, was afraid that might be the case. I'll see what else to use and adjust accordingly thanks for the feedback Blazr.

Working on a php version . I'm thinking of giving bits of bitcoin for people who chat specially the newbs.

You should check out Websockets. I did my whole bittrivia.com game (includes a chatroom) with Node.js and Socket IO over Websockets. Messages can be sent from the client to the server and from the server to the client without the client constantly polling the server. It's much more efficient this way.

Maybe I should test it to see which ones you can get banned off the easiest first Cheesy
