No one cares about your useless altcoin. People with a brain will keep trusting sound developers which have been delivering amazing content to Bitcoin and not some opportunists that don't care about decentralization of nodes and privacy. No one trusts alt-forkcoins after Bitcoin XTroll failure.

That's a project that want to increase the blocksize to 2MB by a fork, which is called Bitcoin Classic. I wonder why they chose this name because it has nothing that is classic. It's supported by Gavin Andresen if I remember well, and is supported by AntPool and a few other big players. However, I don't know if I'm allowed to tell you this Roll Eyes...

Well, really? No one(at least for me) really cares about Bitcoin Classic or whatever you call it.
Why don't you people who support Bitcoin Classic develop your own coins if you really want a 2MB blocksize? :O

Life sucks.

It does look like "Classic" is getting a significant number of the mining power to pledge support.

I'm not interested in a version of Bitcoin that goes against the opinion of most of the experts. I like Luke Jr.'s plan:

Fire the Miners!

Bitcoin Classic is coming
www.BitcoinClassic.com

Over 50% of Mining Power is already publicly committed.   List of Miners already publicly on record as Supporting Bitcoin Classic:

  • Bitmain/Antpool
  • BitFury
  • BW.COM
  • HAOBTC.com
  • KnCMiner
  • Genesis Mining
  • Avalon Miner

Everybody needs to be ready to DOWNLOAD and RUN Classic the second it is released.  The Blockstream/Coretard Supporters will be ramping up FUD, trying to DDOS sites.  We need a fast, massive rampup to show unity.  Classic Blocks and Classic Nodes need to EXPLODE OUT OF THE BLOCKS BABY!

Get Ready to Upgrade!

lol
Keccak is  SHA3..
which will totally kill off ASICs of todays current design.. and would cause the system to take weeks to solve one block because the difficulty is soo high, by the time that 2016 blocks are solved (years) to then downgrade difficulty, would be too late... ASIC producers would have created a SHA3 asic chip. and the chinese manufacturers would dominate again..
all because it costs them $200 to make the asic but sell it to others for $2000, meaning for every unit a competitor buys.. the competitor is literally handing the chinese manufacturer multiple units for free.

it solves nothing short term or long term..

instead:
the only way to solve centralization, without delaying blocks for months by changing the algorithm, without just making it a stopgap to repeat again next year and without risking security by allowing single user to be more powerful than super computer power...
is to ignore a solved block provided by the same known pool if it solves more than 3 blocks an hour.
infact implementing a rule to ignore a pool for atleast 6 blocks means there will be atleast 6 pools on equal footing

blah blah blah you get the idea.

i personally dont like this idea as it messes with consensus and can be abused to not relay certain miners block based on emotion rather than security strength of the solution. but atleast its easier to implement than luke jr's version which is just a short stop gap, with lots of immediate negative repercussions and by the time it settles down the stopgap is over and dominance begins again

"Your useless altcoin" lol.. i love it.

It's like: "There's a possibility of a fork, so I'll just call the version I
disagree with an altcoin and claim the higher moral ground."

That's just posturing, nothing more.

Its the same intellectual dishonesty used by people who
called XT an altcoin when it fact it was an alt client
and wouldn't cause a fork unless 75% of the mining
power was behind it.

Also, "sound developers"?  Who? Greg Maxwell?

He may been a good coder but he also never shared
Satoshi's vision in how Bitcoin would scale, started
a company with business interests counter to Bitcoin
scaling, and continually thwarts the wishes of the larger
Bitcoin community to increase the blocksize.

Yes, it will kill off today's ASICS. But I disagree about the difficulty. Obviously the hardfork would not only change the PoW but initialize the difficulty to a reasonable value for that PoW.

and in 3 months-1 year china will have SHA3 asics and dominate again without 6 years of difficulty growth because the difficulty has been reset, so although you might has mentioned the difficulty may change to not cause transaction delays for users.. its still not solving the dominance issue, long term

plus ofcourse if the difficulty did drop to a level that an average laptop can solve in 10 minutes.. then nefarious users will syndicate(group/pool) multiple systems together to 51% attack very easily and cheaply

The github pull request by luke-jr that everyone is concerned about was closed by jtoomin. No longer a concern your ASICS are safe. luke-jr seems to be a bit of a loose cannon:) As I read the repositories they are trying to make the implementation as simple as possible with just a 2 MB patch to gain support from the pools. Since a client is not even available yet that support remains to be seen.

Oh really?  I guess Mike Hearn is 100% wrong and all the people and companies
backing Bitcoin classic are 100% wrong too.  Sounds legit.
