Don't really understand how this will work but can I use it to place an order just like the Amazon GiftCard? I mean can I just purchase an amazon giftcard with 15% off which could be later used to buy whatever I need.This way I don't have tp reveal my address and other details.

No, he has a balance on his Amazon.de account. Only way this is possible is if he redeemed a gift card. I don't believe it's possible to buy gift cards with redeemed gift cards.
