Hello there!
From time to time there seems to be some sort a giveaway or game which often consists of hacking the encryption to certain private key. Now, while I do understand how most types of encryption work and know how to use them, I do not know how to brute force them nor do I know how to write a script or application to do so.
On the Spanish Forum they've been doing a couple of giveaways with a very clever and interesting system in which all can partake and which I'd like to propose: Using a brainwallet!
This allows for anybody to set up a giveaway, riddle or game since no special knowledge is needed and also, everyone can participate as it is very easy to try possible answers.
Here's how it works: 1. Visit
Brainwallet.org2. Enter the secret phrase and load the public key with the desired prize amount.
The phrase can be a famous quote, a character name, a popular event, etc. Be creative, as it doesn't need to be short.
3. Players have to guess the phrase by asking, for example, yes or no questions.
To verify their answer and see if their guess is a hit, a player just writes it on brainwallet and if it gives out the same public address as the one published by the game maker they have won and got access to the private key and the prize!
This is a very easy system that allows for regular bitcoin games and giveaways in which everyone can participate!
