I am not worried or surprised about what is happening. It seems the same people who thought bitcoin would be successful are the same people who now believe it will be a failure. I suggest letting the people who are knowingly and willingly want to be involved in bitcoin be involved in bitcoin.

So, you mean, Jeff Bezos is playing behind to buy some cheap coin ? ...I'm honored to get him on the same boat as I am.

Exactly!.. They all want to speculate before the halving. But ecosystem answers differently that they think. BTC price is just a little bit low now.

So, you mean, Jeff Bezos is playing behind to buy some cheap coin ? ...I'm honored to get him on the same boat as I am. he will never admit it.. just like donald trump.. because once they do admit it.. lots of investors will follow suit and buy in also, causing a price spike.. any savvi investor never reveals a good deal. otherwise the friend they tell, becomes the competition that ultimately causes the price increase and the most cost to the first person.. the only time you reveal your investing is if the price has stagnated and your thinking of selling and cant find any other suitable good new to push.. so you se your reputation to cause a price spike so that you can sell higher.. and then tell your friends look i told you it would rise.. secretly leaving them holding the bag when the spike falls off and goes back to stagnation levels.. many many many investors do this all the time.. if they are trying to sell you something.. its because they are ready to sell.. not buy. even the gold barons of bitcoin are telling people to buy gold, why...? .. simple because they want to offload their gold and have bitcoin instead.

Your explanation is a little confusing, because Roger Ver is asking people to buy bitcoin. In a different world, Wadhwa, the author of the WP article, was challenged by XAPO CEO and has denied to put money where his mouth is https://twitter.com/wadhwa/status/689617357065453569

I think this is just attempt to try manipulate bitcoin currency. Bullshit news everywhere suddenly where is bitcoin is dead blaa blaa blaa, just as it would have not been heard hundreth times before. Big players own those media writing stories what ever they want. BTC is hitting 400usd right now by the way. How about stock market

I don' think it's about anyone beign dumb. They just need readers/clickers so they'll earn cash from their ads nothing more nothing less. Could also be about manipulation but i don't think so.

Maybe what you're saying is right, it even have a lot of probabilities to be. This would definitly mean that newspapers are just crap.

Most of the positive article was more about how the blockchain was a revolutionary technology than about how bitcoin itself was going to change the world (this currency that gained notoriety because of criminals and hackers and whose price falls by 25% from time to time, y'know). I can't see much positive stuff about bitcoin even in the first article. Even when he writes: "Yet, in 2015, it gained acceptance by retailers such as Overstock.com" he doesn't necessarily have to agree that bitcoin is becoming accepted for a reason. Maybe he just didn't agree with bitcoin from the start. ... Or he was trying to manipulate the price because he actually is invested in bitcoin and wanted to buy cheap coins... but not everyone can be such a successful crook as Mike Hearn and apparently his article didn't change anything (or if it did, it actually had the opposite impact of what was expected ). People who disagree with you aren't necessarily stupid, guys :-/ Especially when talking about Mike Hearn. This guy is smarter than at least 90% of the members this board, for sure.

The problem with bitcoin in media in general is half of the people writing about it have 0 true understanding of it. They google a few things and form some messed up hypothesis about how they think it works then publish stuff that seems like legit media. I did find the part about over 50% of the mining power is in china interesting and I'm pretty sure that is 100% True.

Bitcoin news in general media like Washington Post are usually done by total bitcoin newbies. Articles are written in a manner of scraping information together from recent news. Big picture and state of things is usually disregarded - that is why we had so many Bitcoin Obituaries in the past.

The only tale tale sign I am waiting on is to see what happens to the value once we have the half in payout later this year.

I think, like most media outlets, they are no longer in the news business. They are in the page hit based advertising business. What is written is not what pays the bills, what matters is getting us to click that link and view that add.
