Hello I have offered to give big Vern the identity of the person that committed the theft against cryptsy and help them be put to justice but he is not responding to me. I offered my services and to divulge this information for a bounty of %30 of the stolen funds I also said I am willing to negotiate a bit to make things easier.

Here is my twitter were I have tweeted at Big Vern multiple times https://twitter.com/cryptcracker1/with_replies

I am asking for a contract to ensure I am paid the bounty, if anyone is able to reach Big Vern please tell him to get in contact with me asap.

having filed for bankrupts several days prior to his theft blog post i doubt there is any funds to pay a bounty, and if it was paid post bankruptcy it would have to be returned.

just give the info to authorities.

I must be paid for my work since I've incurred expenses tracking this down. I'm sure something can be worked out since he was the one to make the 1k btc offering in the first place.

cryptsy's funds are nothing to do with him now, once filed for bankruptcy he has no control over them ie you are a tad too late.

Hmmm. It's not like Big Vern's word means anything. The guy might actually be the most dishonest person in Crypto.

Why not just give it to them or make it public at least you helped the Bitcoin community and maybe if their loss can be recovered, maybe you'll get a reward, not only from them but from others who also have interest in this issue.

If promises are not kept I will attempt to make a deal with the court to recover the funds and return them to the people. My reward will simply be the remaining profit of Cryptsy and the right to assume control of Cryptsy corporation.

30% of the stolen funds?  Is that the going rate on extortion or doxxing or whatever this offer is?  Seems exorbitant.  And as the other member here said, I doubt what's left of the Cryptsy organization has enough to pay you up front.

Vern is in divorce proceedings in Florida. His address and lawyer's address should be there in the paperwork. Put an outline describing the information you have and as much as you can divulge into a legal envelope and mail it with confirmed delivery. Save the receipt. Also mail yourself a copy which you keep sealed in case you later have to prove the paper trail on sending them the info. Send a copy to Vern's/Cryptsy's lawyers. Inform them that you expect the 1000 BTC reward IF YOUR INFO TURNS OUT TO GET THE COINS BACK. Negotiating for 30 per cent or for upfront payment will be unrealistic. After you get the money back in Cryptsy's wallet you should get the 1000btc. The bounty was publicly posted. If you get the coins returned then they'll have the money to pay 1000 btc reward.
That's my opinion on it anyway. I'm not from Cryptsy so can't personally guarantee anything.

Are you sure it wasn't an inside job? Maybe they're not really interested in getting the money back, after all, funds were stolen from customers and bounty would be payable from cryptsy's own funds.

Vern had a business that supposedly made about 2000 btc/yr in profit. Why would he give up a multi million dollar business to steal money he can never spend? If he ever tries to spend the coins he's toast. If you think it through logically Vern is probably not the thief. He's losing a multi million dollar profitable business and facing risk of jail and bankruptcy for what? He can't even spend the coins even if he did move them out of Cryptsy's wallet. I think it's just like he said. Someone put a malicious code into his wallet which was not up to standard. Lucky 7 virus has been found and confirmed by other nerds.

What's wrong with bounties?

You got the same shit on much larger scale with fiat money. But I do see where you're coming from. Would be nice to see some news about "Bitcoin used for something good" once in a while to counter balance the bad stuff. But such are not really considered "newsworthy".
