A lot of it can be thought of as whether or not people want to invest, for the same reason you described.

I think a lot of it also comes down to people asking what it can do for them. Currently they have no advantage when it comes down to using Bitcoin vs fiat money, and thus they choose not to use it because it adds another step for them, nothing more.

Everything goes good, Finally as your suggestion to become a global currency it needs to face various situations and needs a vast number of users. The bitcoin grows in value as well as users but being a accepted global currency is highly not possible.

It helps users who pay a lot of taxes to save their money in the form of bitcoins but while trading bitcoins with cash, the users also have many risks associated as they need to trade with users whom they don't know personally.
It's not that 1 BTC is still worth the same and the price can anytime reduce which makes many users lose the fiat cash in the hope of saving taxes.

Price will likely grow. Halving is nearing and all cannot be bad news. As soon as a blocksize solution is found, it will likely rise. Adoption will be slowly (I think) rising too. Good news attract people.

Bitcoin continue to flourish even without the starting of banks. These days people doesn't have time to go to a bank which will continue  and do transactions. as now it has grown as a trusted technology which has earned great belief of users that it grows high

but fiat is the same, it continues to improvise like era. bitcoin has many competitors, the growth would be hampered

not all coin will go up but bitcoin whether the coin can be larger than its prior

In my opinion they are now better larger and well published then 3 or 4 years ago awareness of bitcoin keeps increasing,as you can see in the last two weeks they have been a lot of negative write ups but it manage to bounce back,we'll see how will it go in the coming months or years
