Oh god! Please keep religion out of this. I am not an avid gambler and I am someone who understands the negative consequences which can arise from addiction to gambling. But if you want some of your friends or relatives to give up gambling, then please point out the hard facts rather than using the religious blackmailing tactics.

No, gamble is not a sin at all. In everyday life we have some features of the game. Cheating is a sin, run a casino is a sin, maybe even been addicted os gamebling is, but the gameble itself - no way!
Run a casino is a sin because gambling itself is a sin. Running a casino is a sin because it means we provide a place or facility to gamble. Being a provider is even more sin than gambling. Well, but all back again to their respective perspectives.

Our main concern is to let people know not to gamble foolishly. If someone wants to do it for fun or atleast with some money that he doesnt use then that is fine. Anyone that gamble with intention only to get more money is just so foolish

It is not a sin to gamble. In life anything is a gamble. But the things in which the results are mostly dependent on your work and action you will not consider them to be a gamble.
It is only when your results are not associated with your work (but left to pure luck/chance) you call it as a gamble. It is putting yourself into greater risk of losing. Once lost in a gamble, you will have no way to reconstruct or build your way to old glory. The only way you can get back what you lost in a gamble is to gamble again with what you have. Chances of losing what little you have is also high.
But what we are interested is in the chances of winning. You should be careful to put that money of yours in a gamble which you can afford to lose. You must do a thorough research. One may argue that day trading is also a miniature version of a gamble. In a way it's true. So ensure that you put your money for gamble at safe places which are genuine and try your luck.

Is gambling OK? Don't bet it! There's not an easy or instantly obvious proof text answer to that question.
I don't think Gambling is a Sin because sim is when you are doing something wrong to others or doing something illegal but in gambling you are playing with your own money and are not doing bad to anyone else.Gambling can have other negative effects but it also have some positive effects too but it's not correct to consider it as Sin. i think so...as long as you use your own money and you know how to control yourself to get involve dipper and you forgot that you still have your family who depends that money you gamble maybe you can say it is already a sin..you see life is a gamble too...in order to live you have to strive hard...work hard in order to meet all your family needs

It is and it is not. Gambling is solely made for fun and entertainment. But if you combine Gambling and money then it could be a sin (but it's the nature of industry), We all know that money is root the root of evil in which a person would do anything to just to have one. Then in result Gambling could be also a tool for a destruction of oneself. The people who are engaging in a such are the one committing the sin. Gambling is just a tool for happiness and sadness, though people are the one committing it. The result of their actions dictates the outcome of their future. Which some can contribute to an act that could harm not only himself but also the people around him/her. Having that said we all have different views towards gambling, there are no right or wrong argument to this question.

So for people who think gambling is a sin then do not ever gamble. And for those who think gambling is not a sin, then gamble alone as long as gambling well, with good self-control, good money management and do not get addicted. The point is not to gamble in a foolish and arbitrary way.

I want to gamble and nobody can stop me. Plus you just don't throw that argument about religion. Everyone has a choice in life, not even religion should dictate what you gonna do. We are not in the Middle Ages anymore, time has move forward. Everything, including religion. Even the Pope in Rome is changing a lot of old Catholic traditions. So for me, it's not a sin to gamble. If you felt a slight guilt because you think that you are making a sin when gambling. Then stop, simply as that.

Yes, i agree with your opinion because on this days gambling is not a sin unless you cheat for your gambling needs or cheating for the desire of winning. As long as having a limit in gambling and must bet only of what you can afford to lose then surely it will not lead you to gambling corruption.

Gamble is a sin if you're losing and it's not if you're winning. It's life.

If there is a law or ruling that makes gambling a sin, then it will be a sin. But no one can prevent or arrest a person if he want to gamble unless his gambling activities is already harming other people.

No one can arrest a person for gambling, if that activity is legal in the jurisdiction in which he is residing. It doesn't matter whether he is harming others or not. If he loses his investment in gambling, then who will get hurt? The gambler himself and his family members. And how the general public or anyone else is going to be affected by this?

Sin is used as a definition in the bible, if we based on the law of the state, we should not be biblical because they are separate and only the law of the land is honored by the government and if you violate a certain law, you have to suffer for the consequences of your wrong actions. Now, if gambling is illegal and there is a punishment in doing it, then why would you violate the law if you want to live a peaceful life.

It is upto the person who gambles , if he gamble the money which even if lost is not a problem for him till then he wont be thinking of this sin or not. but when he starts to lose more than what he cannot afford he will start thinking of what he has done is sin. If you do gambling in sports betting and earn little little like what you do in business you wont be thinking that you are doing sin.
For me its cannot be consider as a sin. Its just another way of earning and it can only be a sin if ever you cheat while doing gambling. But as long as you do it right and follow the rules in gambling then you will never a accuse doing sin. Just play honestly and you will never be judge by someone.

Correct. Like for example here in the Philippines online gambling is illegal and that will probably a sin because you're committing illegal. But in some cases even we've doing online gambling our government doesn't care here in the Philippines.

Yes you are right. Is gambling is sin or not, this question will be properly answered with your religious beliefs. Almost all of the religions on this planet earth, they tend to go against this gambling thing. One thing is obvious with all of the beliefs out there that they want goodness of its followers. And goodness just hidden in going against of gambling. So kindly save yourself.
