He is undermining the concept of the currency. it is dsitributed so that we can AVOID having a central authority. He is in essence becoming the central authority to the block chain. Since orphaned and/or forked block chains are not reported to anywhere, we will never know if he is perpetrating or attempting to perpetrate attacks with his dominant market share.
Other pools offer less fees and will amount to more payout over the same amount of time (on avg). You are doing bitcoin a disservice by taking the essence of the currency and bending it over and letting someone have its way with it.

Could someone ask the dude nicely to split the pool in two ? Deepbit1 and Deepbit2 ? Same shares system.. he'd still make the same running both pools, but they would 'compete' against each other to keep things the way they are supposed to be.
Would that work ?

No. The concern is that the operator can be coerced into doing bad things to the network. Having one person control two mining pools does not solve the problem.
IMO, most people should be solo mining. Most people don't like the prospect of waiting over a month to process a transaction block.

I would like to let you know why i continue to use deepbit.net
I have been mining for 3 days today.
I dont have access to GPU's at the moment, im only getting 6-8 MHash/s
No other pool is allowing me to checkout 0.01 BTC .. which I will be finally achieving tonight (and i plan to take, lol)
but, yes I dont understand why so many LARGE rig owners are using it, If I had even 1 ATI 5850 i would be somewhere else for the lower fee.
Lower Fee = More Money
.0007xxxx per share is what deepbit is offering, and is lower than other Pay Per Share, but swesub i will have to mine 30 days with CPU to withdraw (.10 min limit) .. and continumm i would have to wait 10 months (1 BTC) ... so CPU miner's only friend atm deepbit, it lets me put 0.01 in my wallet, because if the pool crashes.. my bank could be gone .. and CPU mining takes a long time

My idea is a lot friendlier. I totally agree, and dont want to see ANY hostile action taken against part of the Bitcoin community, but Tycho is not responding to the "increase fee" method, which is what Im assuming you meant by "give him 3%" method. |

Honestly im not opposed to the idea of DDoS'ing him.
We can't let bitcoins security be comprimised by the unaware masses when 1 person can change it.
