Hello eveyone.

Last night i performed a bitcoin transfer in two parts to the same address.  Part 2 went just fine almost immediately but part 1 is still showing pending with zero confirmations.  Is there anything I can  do or will it fix itself.  Thank you in advance. btw Im using Electrum Bitcoin Wallet.

If you had any unconfirmed transaction before sending the bitcoins then this can happen.
Also, there can be other cause too of this. so it will be better if you post txId.

As suggested, post the transaction ID here, in Electrum you can do that by right clicking on the transaction in History and selecting "Copy to clipboard". It will then be easier to determine the cause for it.

Mostly that you're not adding appropiate fee for miner to it's quite long to be confirmed.
But do not worry, they still be send and your transferred btc will not be gone

As suspected the fee 0.00015 BTC is pretty small for the size 2766 byte, I dont see any other issues though.

The fee should be enough for the transaction, it doesn't give you high priority, but miners should pick up on it eventually.

Did you have your wallet software set the fee automatically? Are you on the latest version of the software?

With the increasing competition to be included in blocks and spam attacks it may be wise to pay a little bit more to move your coins.

Thanks so much for the help I was at a total loss for what to do.  I didnt set the fee (unless i somehow changed it) I had Electrum set to automatically set the fee.  Something that may be helpful I should have mentioned before,  I  had incoming bitcoin from helix light that was pending at the same time I did this transaction.  Also I had just previously sent a slightly larger amount to the same adress the transaction that is still pending was going too.

Thanks a million satoshi everyone!  I feel much better now.  I worked hard to scrape all that together and then made a promise, but they understand now and it looks like they'll have their btc soon.  I really apprecitiate the advice on the fees too - I will definitely remember that from now on.  Hopefully after I've learned enough to do so, I can be here to help someone someday.   Smiley

low fees is always a problem...

not always, it still depends on the number of transaction which is currently unconfirmed in the time of your transfer. personally for me i always use around 5k satoshi per 1KB of transaction and most of the time it is confirmed on the next block but when there are high numbers of unconfirmed trans then around 3-4block before getting confirmed

probably another transaction prior that was done without fee or proper fee, i'm in the same boat now, one sent with proper fee, but another not, and the former need the latter to be confirmed first...
