i think with 50 tera is doable, the averag for a block is 4 month, not that bad imho, assuming the diff not increase too much, and by the look of the value it seems that this is the case
however, personally i would do solo only if the average was 1 month, so at present you need 200 tera

Since you mentioned you have a 50TH farm, If I were you, I would mine on a pool with 10TH so you would have some earnings (around $530 a month) and then solo mine the rest (40TH) so in 4 any half months you hit a block and at the same time have some money to pay for expenses all through out.

ive thought about it , but its hard to move that much hashpower for that long with having to rely on luck as to if i would hit or not

Stupid??? Not necessarily if you are lucky at gambling and also at finding few genesis blocks... After all, it's 25 BTC everyone's mining for, if done solo, as will be halved few months later...

It would depend. Solomining is more of a chance and gambling game for people who bought hardware and have no means of getting ROI. If they get lucky, they may win the whole block reward+transaction fee by themselves. Not many people has done this though. some people like gambling I guess.

It's luck, if you get lucky, you would hit it. If you don't, you would not hit a block to cover the electrical cost and it would be a waste of electricity. Genesis block is the block that sets the stone for the blockchain. The only block is https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/block/000000000019d6689c085ae165831e934ff763ae46a2a6c172b3f1b60a8ce26f.
