sup,

by looking at the digital goods section i see a ton of "stuff" (most likley accounts) that were somehow obtained in a non legal way. just for the fun i reported 3 of those theads, nothing happend. i contacted a mod, twice, no reply.

So i think its okay selling stolen stuff on bitcointalk, while half of the forum is crying about getting scammed when dealing with other people. seems legit. in my opinion its pretty clear why this forum is full of scum, because we dont do anything about it.

i am not complaining, i just had the feeling i would feel better when i post about it.

greetings

EDIT: and yes i tried to get a vouch copy on one of that offers to see what will happen. i also contact a stupid seller that posted an account password to see how he would react. of course, nothing happend.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

how long has it been since you reported the thread or post? sometimes mods ignore report, yes there is such a function, and may later come back to it. don't get me started on the mods, apparently one of my last post was offtopic and I lose 14 activity, some mods are friendly though. michell is mostly online along wth cyrus. they are possibly the only ones who will reply. hilarious is~ a douchebag

~ever since he became a global mod.

idk what i'm supposed to make of the rest of the post. but even though illegal things are banned according to theymos. even invites and stuff that are hacked are allowed. the rules here are just dumb

Yeah, I agree a lot of them are, and so is enforcement.

Whywefight, you've been here longer than I have so it shouldn't come as a surprise about any of this.  We kind of have to take matters into our own hands sometimes when it comes to scams and illegal business.  The illegal stuff can't be sold if no one buys it, so we have to make this place inhospitable to the carders/hackers/crackers.

selling stolen stuff are different from running ponzi/scamming.

I'm not knowledgeable enough to know for sure which of the stuff on sale on the marketplace is stolen/hacked, but I know that they're not allowed according to the rules.

Trusted an exchange that climbed to the top 3 in just under 2 years with your money? you are fucking stupid.

^^All those people who sell Starbucks and similar gift cards at like 50% of their value--those have absolutely got to be stolen/carded/hacked/cracked.  Anything that looks too good to be true probably is and there are so many things for sale on this forum that look way, waaaay too good to be true.

if someone is selling an account for some pornsite at 2$ while its actually worth 24.95$ and they get asked: "are those accounts hacked?" they reply, most of the time "normal accounts wouldnt be that cheap" so its pretty obvious. some mebers sometimes even write it in their threads right away...

question is, as always: why is someone selling something for a certain price that is normaly worth 10 times of what they ask for.

Um, yes you could buy it and find out when the gift card gets canceled or the cops show up at your door.  My point is that you can assume with good confidence that if someone's selling something that looks too good to be true, that it is stolen/carded/hacked/cracked.

For me, I'm not going to risk it.

Of course everyone is mostly right but it still doesnt change the forum rules.
I really dont recall any scams that got busted by the forum staff (in the last 2 years)
It is usually the community itself that makes it public and the perpetrator gets negative trust.

OK, so going by your logic, go out and buy the stuff you think are cracked/hacked/stolen and tell us they get cancelled or the cops show up at your door then make a scam accusation thread when you have the evidence

As long as you report them and they are obviously hacked/cracked/stolen then it is highly likely that they are going to be removed. I remove after I see a reported thread. There isn't a fixed rule in regards to this.
However:
Quote
17. Trading of goods that are illegal in the seller's or buyer's country is forbidden.
it is indirectly affected by this rule. Such accounts are illegal everywhere. We'll have to wait for theymos to make a statement in regards to this (there have been some in the past).

Trying to determine whether things are legal or not by the logic of "It's too good to be true" doesn't work. Let's use BiPolarBob for example. He gives out completely legitimate giftcards for free or a fraction of the price; all of the nice things he has done would have made him a prime target to be a 'scammer' by your logic, rather than being praised. Sometimes deals are too good to be true, despite being legitimate.

As has been said earlier, the reason these items/deals still exist is due to there being a market for them. If you educate people on the risks of such deals rather than moaning about it here you would probably get more done towards your goal. Remove the demand and the people selling will reduce.

selling stolen stuff are different from running ponzi/scamming.
They still are classed as scams by the community most of the times. The staff don't moderate scams, and they aren't about to start.

Um, yes you could buy it and find out when the gift card gets canceled or the cops show up at your door.
Unless you're the one carding them, the cops wouldn't be interested in you for having a carded account.

According to the stats of my reports nothing happend or a mod choosed to dissmiss it. I reported only three thread were the op stated the accounts were hacked. I might recall my stats wrong but it seems so. I will just go on and report everything that smells fishy.

@Minifrij i might be wrong on this but what bob does is not the common rule. He gives away stuff without asking for something or if he asks people know already there is some kind of reward. I like bob but the digital good section is not full of bobs giving away "expensive" stuff for for cheap because they want other people to jerk off without getting poor. Thats a fact and that logic works perfect in life. But please proof i am wrong.

Edit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1327486.0 i would love to learn that this is legal. I just would like to know why i can buy accounts that cheap. Shouldnt be a problem to explain it if its legal.

I wonder why this thread hasn't been mentioned even once: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=134779.0 . Is it ineffective ATM?

That post is too vague and selling invites is only a part of the problem
