Buying such large assets with Bitcoin is really exciting. I'd also love to see the ability to purchase real estate, buildings and plant & machinery with Bitcoins. This way manufacturing units will be able to deal in payments using Bitcoins and save tonnes in overhead charges.
It is not the first Tesla that had been sold for Bitcoin. There was a Tesla sale for Bitcoin some time ago. However it shows that Bitcoin is far away from being dead.Great for all of us.

Good for bitcoin in general that the word is getting out.... although it's not the first time a purchase like this is made with bitcoins.

Let's see...Finland is near Sweden and Sweden is where KnC Miner is. I think we have a winner, don't we Markus? I think he is naturally pleased with his Tesla. But maybe he can later buy a Ferrari with his Bitcoins. If Bitcoins later goes up so it was a shame to spend it on the Tesla. If you think like that you can never spend your coins.. What if.. Just rebut tour coins if you are afraid of that. Besides, electric cars are the future, not gas devouring v12 engines.

This sounds like great news, until you realize that they bought the Tesla with bitcoins through a payment processor. The Tesla dealer did not accept the bitcoins directly as payment, but BitPay converted it to fiat and they received it in fiat. The day when Tesla announce that they accept Bitcoin payments directly, I would jump for joy. Elon Musk must finish the HyperLoop and accept bitcoin as payment for tickets, then I would be satisfied.

What is the difference if they received the converted bitcoins to fiat via a payment processor like BitPay or bitcoins directly to their wallet? They will need to use an exchange anyways to convert to cash.

I have to say that is much more interesting than the Tesla, because it was earlier and because it was more expensive. By the way, thsis was "officially" 3 years ago !

If you use have prices in fiat currency and you use a payment processor you know that you will receive the exact price in your fiat currency (you can request the fiat price and the payment processor ask the bitcoin user the price in bitcoins). If you use your wallet you will need to sell them on exchange (and you would receive more fiat or less depending on exchange actual rates).

All those stories are the kind of stories that make me wanna hold btc for at least 3 more years. I think that's a pretty fair time range, considering all the improvements that are being made on the blockchain technology.

I heard someone's Tesla caught flames in Norway while being charged at a charging station.
Oh yeah. I also heard that story. It is really unfortunate as it tarnishes Tesla's reputation. Loads of new cars out there are driven with manufacturer problems and people do not even know it. As soon as these things are reported, it gets investigated and if it was attributed to the car, the manufacturer will recall the cars to be re-fitted with a replacement part. These things just happen. It could also have been a problem with the charging station and not the car. Tesla's are maybe one of the worst because they have batteries which are highly flammable.

They'll be very rich in few years later if they hold their bitcoin If this news on mainstream media, people might think bitcoin isn't dead. Maybe in future, people could buy an island or huge company only with bitcoin You can buy an island and mansion with bitcoin already, but the demand was low so until now i don't think anyone buy it yet https://www.bitpremier.com/This is Tesla who owned by Elon Musk right ? I think he made the right decision by investing in Bitcoin, the price is pretty low when compared to the $400 we had few weeks ago I think his Business sense is tingling and told him to invest in Bitcoin

Well the publicity is good, but have I missed something here? Didn't the car sales company use a 3rd party to pay them in Euros? If this is the case, then it just another sale of a car for Euros. If the company had accepted the Bitcoin directly, and used those coins to pay some of their costs, then that would be the real revolution. Many years ago Control Data Corporation sold a large mainframe computer to Russia. As Russia didn't have the money to pay for it, they swopped it for many millions of Christmas cards that they printed. CDC set up a company to sell these cards to recover their money, and no doubt made a nice extra profit from them. Howeveer, this deal didn't mean that Christmas cards were the new international currency.

Yes, but the car dealer gave the possibility to pay with bitcoins (i don't see any problem if they use a third part company to redeem bitcoins to fiat, if not they will do it in an exchange). Its publicity, as more dealers accept payment with bitcoins, more publicity about bitcoin as a payment system. If you read the forum a lot of users say that there are few stores that accept bitcoins, we need more stores that accept them as a payment.
