Not trying to hijack the subReddit Silverbug forum, but since I personally started as a silver-stacker before discovering BTC, discussions tend to mirror that progression: What's the REAL deal on Bitcoin?

I've been investing in silver for about 2.5 years going on 3 now. Bitcoin I found in late April of 2011.

How's that work guys? One day you're like "I wish there was something like bitcoin but slower, heavier and could tarnish..."

I kid, I have some metals.

I started stacking in 2008.  Never very seriously, and I tended to give them out as gifts too, so I'd typically net one sealed tube of eagles, a couple loose, and some odds and ends (quarters, dimes, nickles, etc) each year.

I discovered bitcoin in 2011, and my 2012 silver money was spent expanding my modest mining system rather than expanding my modest silver stock.

I don't consider myself a serious PM-bug, but I do keep a very close eye on this chart.

I never traded/invested in financial markets before I got into Bitcoin. I've learned a lot about economics and analysis from this experience and all the veteran members here. Then I diversified to new markets. Now I have a pretty decent portfolio for someone with only a little more than a year and a half of experience.

something along the lines of "I now have .1% of 1% of all bitcoins that will ever exist... hrmm.. maybe I should diversify just a bit"

fiat (401k) .. check
property (land).. check
bitcoins .. check
PM's .. not so much yet (could you just imagine having .1% of 1% of all the gold or silver ever mined?)
copper & lead ..  wife is starting to come around
doomer preps .. will broach subject with wife once she's comfy with copper & lead Smiley

besides.. after 2 years, the wife still does not understand bitcoins beyond "they have something to do with that annoyingly loud rack of computers in the laundry room"

I started out with both silver and gold bullion, but then I lost interest in silver, though I think the large silver coins are cool. I'll probably get a kilo coin eventually.

I guess I understand the appeal of industrial metals because of their utility, but I don't think they are very practical. 1 oz. of gold has as much value as 500 lbs of copper. Copper and lead are not very efficient ways to store wealth.

But they are a great way to protect it Wink.

I heard about bitcoin before I got into silver but I only played around with bitcoin, it was silver that harkened my economic awakening, I'm far more heavily invested in silver but I definitely am all about the crypto anarchy and I personally believe the future currency is going to be precious metal backed bitcoinage.

I think gold and silver bugs totally understand the strengths of bitcoin, once they've learned what bitcoin actually is.
