Sold on 2016-01-26 for 1.5BTC

Hi, I'm selling an unfunded (peeled) 2011 Casascius 25 BTC coin.

Here are the details:

  • This coin was graded MS-62 by ANACS and the slab has been cleanly cut open.
  • The coin's hologram has been peeled off and the private key has been redeemed.
  • The hologram sticker has been replaced flat on the coin and is included.
  • The original ANACS slab and the protective coin ring will also be included.
  • The first bits of this Casascius coin are 1PtwkMfs and are still clearly readable.
  • The ANACS authentication number is 4538094 and the top of the slab is intact.
  • I'm located in the United States and the items will be sent with tracking and insurance.
  • I'm the original owner of this coin and it was purchased from Mike Caldwell directly.
  • I overfunded the coin in 2013 with an additional BTC15 (for a total of BTC40).

Please post here or PM me with any offers.

There's no strict deadline, but I'll be making the final decision within a few days.

Please let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them!

Here are some pictures of the opened slab and the coin:

I offered 0.8BTC as well. Apparently someone has bid up to 1.2BTC now. I would love a public auction if all those involved would agree to it so that there is more transparency in the bidding process.

I guess when the time comes I am better off peeling mine and selling the coins unloaded! Last 2 of these I bought cost 26.5BTC and 27BTC each... I will agree with OP these are by far the ugliest Casascius coins ever made (explains the minimum markup).

I've been away from these boards for quite a while, and I didn't realize there was a dedicated auctions forum. I'd be inclined to use that in the future.

At present, there's an offer from a user wishing to remain anonymous, so I think this one is going to remain a silent auction for the time being.

Please let us know before you peel it! Im sure someone will be interested.I quite like that it's more of a medallion than a coin. Sets it apart a bit. Smiley
