With the amount of scams happening around the forum recently, most of them (maybe few of them)are somehow associated with the threads created by the newbies (say brand new accounts). These newbie accounts either post links to complete small tasks or post the requirements such as :Moderator needed for gambling website/Paying 0.005 for signing up on the website .I agree, some of them are legit but its upto the members of the forum, more likely individuals to figure out the scam websites.

Example :
Quote
Hey, guys i just created my bitcoin casino and need some intellegent guys to help me with controlling it. All details in pm or skype im replying faster in skype.

Reply from letyouearn
hello buddy, I can help you with your project. I have some experience controlling sites too. Sensing you a skype invite right away.
After their skype conversation, his account was hacked.

Long story short,I think newbies should not be allowed (atleast brand new accounts) to make new threads in the MarketPlace section (since most of scams happen there). If this seems quite unfeasible then atleast the new threads from the newbie accounts should be moderated first ,before its posted in the forum. This way,all the shady posts/services will already be filtered.Something like "Precaution is better than cure"

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.
Advertised sites are not endorsed by the Bitcoin Forum. They may be unsafe, untrustworthy, or illegal in your jurisdiction.

And what about the legit accounts? You want people to wait 6 weeks before being able to create a thread?
People wouldn't be getting hacked if they didn't do tasks for five fucking cents.
If you get scammed, it's your fault. Sure, some aren't yours but if it's related to these ones you should know better than to download .exe from ANYONE, not just 'Newbies'. Don't sign up on a website. Check the code on the site, or just don't sign up at all. Your credentials are saved & even if they're hashed it's easy to crack.
Instead of blaming a group as a whole, blame the person falling for the tricks.

The "newbie jail" was there for pretty much this reason, to reduce the clutter and scam attempts. I agree that it would be a good idea to limit users from trying to post new threads in several sections but this wouldn't be effective nor feasible. Newbies can still PM users who desperately need some coins or even worst, buy a well established account for this purpose. Letyouearn's account getting hacked isn't fully due to newbies creating new thread for scamming but it is due to his negligence for not scanning the program before running it.

Its unfair for newbies that has no intention to defraud others., much better put a limit on where they allowed to post. newbies should be not allowed to post in Lending sections and investorsgames,

~snip~

Sorry but I dont agree .Because many users who have no intention to scam makes up a newbie account to get up an auction for their whatever rank account .Also there are also some newbies who had made a successful and nice trade in marketplace section.

Also remember you cannot stop newbies to make new threads with just the reason that MOSTof them are scammers.Still there are some guys.So for sake of them think of it again.

You can go harsh on them asking all details and verify it and make yourself secure at the end.The reason that letyouearn was hacked because we miss up or ignore security things due to which it happened. We should always open a link received by anyone in PM in sandbox browser.Avast used to provide it 1 or 2 years ago.Just google up for more sandbox browsers.

And what about the legit accounts? You want people to wait 6 weeks before being able to create a thread?
Can you read? Which part of my post even mentions "6 weeks"?Did I not say "let the posts be moderated by staff first before its available publicly"?

People wouldn't be getting hacked if they didn't do tasks for five fucking cents.
A few days back, weren't you paying "few satoshi's" to test your website or whatever the crap was ?How about no one did the task thinking they might just get hacked ?

Instead of blaming a group as a whole, blame the person falling for the tricks.
So a pozni creator is not to be blamed but the one signed up for the ponzi should be at default ? The point is,the user wouldn't lose his money if the fucking ponzi was not created in the first place.

very good point and idea to let a Moderator check the newbie postings before they go live. but it will be to much work load for the Mod IMO

but how about those many threads that are opened in the gambling section to have an opportunity to show their signatures? those threads are killing the threads from casino owners.

Examples
*Why is gambling so addicting?
*What happen if gambling was not introduced
*Your favorite gambling game
*Is there a way to see how much gambling sites makes?
*Gambling is it wrong?
*Invest in my gambling addiction and profit
*What is your favorite type of gambling
*How can I win big?
*How much can you earn with gambling
*Gambling can be profitable in the long run! it is possible
*is it a sin to gamble?
and many more

how about letting only casino owners open threads in the gambling section and add a gambling sub forum for the rest?

It can be unfair for honest newbie.
All we can do is protect yourself from being hack.

If you're seeing newbie or new account, asking for help... You need to make preventation step ( for example : scan the link that being given mostly, ask their personal info with piece of paper + username , something else that can proven their valid identity )

We are able to see something fishy, so we must smart to decide whenever you're dealing with honest person or scammer ...
