This is a little project i have been doing for my self to keep track of prices to GBP cos I'm from the UK so i cba with USD plus VirWox supports paypal so all the better for me and anyone else who is reading this lol.

Anyway the app provides conversion between bitcoins to USD/GBP/EUR

there is the option to automatically include the paypal fee as well as the VirWox market fee's or have a look at what you would get if they didn't charge you to convert >.> (we wish)

this only supports the market price option and not the limit order, also since the VirWox API doesn't support transactions or account access yet that isn't there either, tho when they release it i'll prob add it.

there's no widget yet but that will be coming at some point when im not working or so sick of coding at work i cba to do it at home.

This is a screenshot from a beta version but the design is the same

Download and install the APK on your android device
https://github.com/Deathnetworks/BitConvert/tree/master/Release

Layout might be abit off or alot >.> i haven't done any cross device testing as im too lozy tho i will update when i stick that in.
At present its optimised for the samsung galaxy s2 aka I9100 - cos thats what i have

Will post on the android market once I receive enough donations to join the thing lol >.>

BitConvert ReadMe File
Code:
BitConvert - BitCoins to YourCoins
The world only VirWox based BitCoin currency convertor
By Phillip James Wylie

Currency conversion for bitcoin to standard currency via the VirWox.com system.

This system works based on the usage of the market order system include the fees that are required to perform these
actions, amounts can only be traded for and against solid amounts such as 1Bitcoin as apposed to
0.01Bitcoin or 10GBP as opposed to 10.50GBP.

This app also allows the user;

Supports all three major currency's
Stores data offline and between session's
To switch between 3 currency types USD/EURO/GBP
Choose to include the fee's that virwox charges or not
Select to include the paypal withdrawal charge in the conversion or not

This app will not faciliate direct transactions due to the limited nature of the VirWox API

This app is designed to be very simple to use and can also be used as a currency watcher for the
Virwox currency market

To install

1. download the .apk file found in the Release folder
2. transfer the .apk to your android device (running android 1.6 or higher)
3. use a file manager to select and install the .apk (such as androzip)

Using the app

1. open the app as any other application on your device
2. if thet app is not sync'd or you wish to retrieve the most upto date values
Connect to the internet wifi or mobile internet and press 'Sync Rates'
3. Select your currency of choice to convert to USD/GBP/EURO
4. enter the amount of bitcoins you wish to convert to your chosen currency
5. press 'Calculate'

Discliamer - you will need a VirWox account (https://www.virwox.com/register.php) to trade
on the virwox network, virwox is designed for Second life transactions but
a second life account/avatar is not required to use the market.

I tried installing this. But doesn't seem to work. Anyone else got it installed?

I'm using HTC Desire and appinstaller to install the .apk. But for some reason it can't install using app installer. It tells me there is a problem parsing the package. Any recommendations on how to install it? I have installed other .apk files before.

anyone who's using my app mind dropping a comment here

with device name/id - like Samsung galaxy s 2 i92100 or Samsung galaxy s 2 i9100b
if known screen dimensions
and most importantly if far off is the layout

this is so i can actually get around to generating optimised layouts for each.

also if you have any problems or requests feel free to ask. i have a coding job so i'll get on them when i can.

Hope you enjoy the app or just use it for watching the rates (like i do ^^)

Galaxy S (I9000), screen size: 480 x 800 pixels.

Works like a charm. No visible layout offset but it is expected considering the same screen size in pixels.
