My name is Brett and I'm new to the whole BTC scene, but i'm eager to learn as much as possible about BTC. I believe that BTC can and will change the world as we know it forever.

As of late I've became tired of having to work a "normal" job while i'm still at university so i've began to take an interest in Finance, and the stock market. I've also taken up an interest in computer science. A friend of mine was proof that you could do well in the NYSE if you have a good strategy, and "you can't treat the stock market like a casino". This friend who is ATC777 on this website is the person who also introduced me to BTC and showed me how it will change everything! I haven't started mining yet, but soon I will invest in a software so i can get things started and start collecting BTC. Cool

If anyone has any advice or any suggestions to a good software program to mine please don't hesitate to let me know.

Welcome!

To be able to mine Bitcoins you will need Hardware more than software. Mining programs are free and open (most of them).

Start creating a wallet. (Blockchain.info, Electrum, MultiBit...) and so it goes...

I suggest making a Wallet with both Blockchain.info and An armory wallet (Blockchain.info because Armory will take quite a while to sync with all active blocks)
But once you start collecting Bitcoins I suggest moving all t the Armory (Download not online) And putting the wallet offline as to prevent any "misuse" of the wallet.

Also if you would like to get started buying bitcoins we sell them for Greendot Moneypaks Amazon Gift Cards and Walmart Gift cards.

Glad to have you in the Bitcoin world,

Certainly take a look at the wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page

Bicoin-OTC is a great resource : http://wiki.bitcoin-otc.com/wiki/Main_Page

There is always my book Bitcoin Step by Step, (see my signature) to get you jump started.

Read this forum.  wander through the threads and postings.  Read what others are saying about topics, and get involve.

I wrote an article on my blog today about establishing trust: http://bitcoinsbs.wordpress.com

The best piece of advice I can give you is be upfront, honest and respectful and expect the same.

Hey,

I also believe Bitcoin will change everything, the whole world and all that's in it.

It will especially affect governments and banks and I hope destroy them utterly.

Best

Welcome, Brett! Finally stopped lurking/reading in the shadows and introduced yourself, I see. Hope you get out of "n00b jail" soon! Cheesy

Don't be shy -- keep exploring and chatting with people. You'll meet good people, brilliant people, bad people and dumb people, just like anywhere else. You'll meet some of the "gurus" who have forgotten more about Bitcoin than I ever knew, from whom you can learn a lot. So dive in and have fun, and you already know I'm a short drive away if you need technical help. But as I've said many times, other people can only teach you so much. About 90% of the learning process is putting in your own personal effort and studying, studying, studying.  Smiley
