Well I don't know why people hate demurrage. I think it is a good idea for an along-with-bitcoin cryptocurrency. Although I think a demurrage of 2.5% would be the right amount (From my Islamic background point of view).

There are a lot of specific rationales and details But specifically for precious metals (mining and storing), Whenever you own a total of what equals around 85grams of gold that did not move around or spent for personal use for a whole year, You are required to give away the equivalent of 2.5% of your savings worth to the poor.
