After the Mike Hearn ragequit and ridiculous clueless people wanting a hard fork shut the hell up we will see a 600+ price again as Core devs deliver more and more improvements in the software. I sort of agree with you, maybe even before the halving but it's depending on a lot of factors to make it happen but it's a possibility if people stop the panic and actually try to re-invest like the way it was before these recent events (to have a steady growth over time). Unfortunately recovery of each damage is always slower that the damage itself so is going to take some time but eventually it happens.

There will never be clean air from FUD, there will always be something, or something new will be made up to keep the price low.
The biggest fear of biggest investors is for the price to go too high, as they will have to pay much more to allocate high amounts of coins with which they can later on manipulate the price.
600+ ? Give it a few years and add zero after that number

i even believe if the (stupid) developers haven't came up with the block size, bitcoin XT, and all that drama and more importantly didn't separate into two groups and stayed together to reach a consensus we were at $600+ prices right now instead of FUD after FUD and resulted panic sells.

I have no doubt that the price will rise to $600 and higher at some point. There is too much negativity going through the entire community at the moment. Once we leave all this fud and drama behind us, the price will climb back up to new highs.

Bitcoin is decentralized. So it depends on the consensus of the whole community. It will take some time to reach any consensus. That is expected.

China doesn't care much about the issues we are facing here. They have basically the control in their hands as they rule the majority of the hashpower. They support the core client and will patiently wait for an agreement.

So any rationale behind the $600 number, or is this just a wild guess?  If you look at where we stand right now, which is below $400, what you're suggesting is quite a jump.  Even if bitcoin was a tech stock caught in the middle of a tech stock bubble, this would be a huge gain.  If we were to jump to $600 right now I'm afraid it wouldn't be sustainable, just like this recent altcoin microbubble wasn't a few days ago.

Price prediction of bitcoin is almost like licking your finger and sticking it in the air to test the wind direction... With the up-coming hard fork (bitcoin classic) in March, we will see more dramas and changes.
