I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with controlling different batches of S7's on the same controller. I know it's possible to, but want to make sure having different batches won't mess anything up.

Thanks!

I haven't tried it but I'm curious too.  I would imagine that you would want all the boards to be from a batch that has the same default frequency though.

I suspect the IO board is the same for all, and will have no issues on all versions.  They sell it and make no mention of needing to specify what batch/speed it is: https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201601120933252220cfbfFq20693

I suspect the beagle board black does matter as there are different frequencies and firmwares.  On BBB - https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020160105102242316JqapyMif0705 they mention "Please mark the AntMiner type and corresponding hash rate in the comment field, we'll provide the corresponding firmware before shipping out. "

But I could be wrong I'm just reading into their buying instructions.

I know this is an old topic. I'm sorry if I should not resurrect it.

How would one go about powering more than one miner from the same control board? I mean there are only 3 IO attachments on the board. Would you have to solder more connector attachments to the IO board?

Thanks for any replies.

I am asking because I have an S9 with either a bad IO board or a bad BB black board. I am in the middle of testing to determine which is the problem. It would be nice if I could power the dead S9 hash boards from a working S9 while I wait for replacement.

Thanks again!

Oh I see.

None of my S7's or the S9's have more than three connector.
Well, actually,  the S9 has four positions for the ribbon cable. So one is free.

That won't help much.

Thank you for the reply!
