Any way to buy a car for cheap?

I remember reading a thread about a year ago with some method to get a car for a very good discount around 50%+ discount from the website price. Cant find it now and dont remember what it said. Does anyone know something about that?

some people sell there cars but really it all depends where you live, but 50% off is crazy, my friends work in ford australia and ford germany, and toyota australia and they can buy a car every 3 years for 40% discount of the rrp but still it is all location specific.

There wouldn't be a car industry any more if you could get a guaranteed 50% off. Much depends on where you are and what marque and model you're looking for. You might be able to get something at the end of its model life for that but you'd have to negotiate hard for it.

There are no specific rates as such.It depends on which country you're in.A car sold online in America wont be available to buy in other Asian countries due to their legal restrictions and also the import duties will be as expensive as the car.You need to search for your country specific websites .

If you have the cash and dont need financing you can go to used
car actions and save a ton.

My buddy who is a mechanic was able to get a car worth about 14k for only 5k
in a police auction but it needed work. So if you have cash and know how to work
on cars I would say to check for auctions in your area

A car for 5k. That really is a good deal. Guess this is the best thing to do.. Have a mechanic friend with you and try to see how much it would cost you for repairs.

I do not think, that it is real to buy the car with 50% discount. Max you can get 10% discount. The only way to buy cheap is to buy in the bulk quantity, but what you can do with let say 100 used cars.

A friend from work got a really cheap car on craigs list.

Basically they wanted only 500$ more what the used car lot offered cause they needed the money fast
and used car lots rip people off

Used car auction go but watch, i know from my experience not always what looks cheap actually cheap..If you need do some repairs and to fix something final bill can be high..

50 percent sounds impossible due to dealer needing to make a profit. Even if the car was hot, no criminal is giving you that big a discount.

There are many websites that offer a car at 50% disscount, or second hand usage car as another option for the cheapest way to buy a car.

I've bought cars through craigslist and they have been good cars.  You avoid the middle man (dealers) when you do this and there are resources like kbb.com to help you know the value.
