I have a $100 CVS gift card and am looking to exchange it for bitcoins somehow- I'm a complete newbie at this so sorry if this is totally impossible or something.. I don't have my own bank account or credit/debit cards at the moment so am very stuck on how to possible get my hands on bitcoins. Would otherwise using a normal prepaid visa/debit card possible work?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

You can send the gift card to someone and they can just send the bitcoins to your wallet.

I believe you would find someone who is willing to trade the 100$ CVS card in exchange for the proper amount of bitcoins it is worth.

http://bitcoincharts.com/ This should give you an indicator on what to expect in trade.  Some members are doing escrow, which I would recommend to avoid scams.
