What's above Legendary?

Well, would that mean we would have to get rid of the "mysterious Legendary achievement activity set for each member" sort of thing for Legendary and put that on the higher rank? Or... how would that work? A mystery for both ranks? (Because I think it's more likely that we'll get one more additional rank instead of a whopping ten or something.)

Also legendary - then perhaps entity...myth... deity... demi god ..god..  final rank should be

Well, you know, activity typically doubles for every consecutive rank and I doubt anyone, regardless of how

they are, would spend 20+ years on a forum.

It would of course be interesting to have but if you have to make threads to appeal then No,not necessary.Though,'Brand New' is the rank you start with before newbie ,maybe edit the image ?

There is a strong urge to consider others mere pawns once you hit legendary

I doubt we can get consensus on this, you know bitcoin wide, beyond the forum, etc.

It would be nice if there was another rank (not sure why we don't have more of them). The community could give suggestions and later a poll could be run in order to vote for the best one. However, this was proposed at least once in recent times and theymos has stated that he would not add one (right now; IIRC).

there's nothing above legendary (staff and such are just extra classes). if you want to propose adding a new rank you should suggest it in the new forum software section. I doubt they will add anything significant on this one.

So, empirical evidence seems to suggest that such a small group is unlikely to sustain a vibrant community

That would be a forum for somewhere on the order of 600 people, as far as I can tell.
Way too few to sustain a lively discussion, IMHO.
Especially considering that many are inactive and also not necessarily all of us are fluent in English.

Not necessarily. This is just a subforum and I'm pretty sure that it would be quite active because of legionaries being a "special club" of sorts that looks down on the pawns. Besides, that section would keep getting new members as more activity cycles pass. I don't see a reason for which this idea should not be (at least) given a shot in the new forum.

Especially considering that many are inactive and also not necessarily all of us are fluent in English.

Even if we put the number of active and decent English speakers at around 300 it would be enough to sustain a section. There don't have to be hundreds of posts a day you know.

So many good ideas here, and this is one of them.  I definitely like the idea of exclusive sections of bitcointalk, and I wish I'd been here at the beginning to donate whilst bitcoin was cheap.  But for members who've been here for longer than a legendary member--they should have their own section.  The language problem I think can be dealt with.  Most members write English pretty well but the non-English speaking ranks would fill up eventually.
