Thanks for your support!  We appreciate your interest!

I am in charge of the PR and the this forum.  Griffith is the current Dev. We are also open for another DEV or 2 for collaborations to make Supercoin even better!  The plan is to gain much needed awareness for Supercoin!  Supercoin versus Dash is one way to bring more awareness.  I personally believe Supercoin is more anonymous than Dash. I known Supercoin's transactions are faster than Dash.  With popularity comes critique.  With critique then comes proof to defend against the the critique.  We need to be able to prove that Supercoin is more anonymous and more efficient than Dash.  If we can prove this then the cryptocurrency community will do the rest.

Good luck with [SUPER] SUPERCoin!  Smiley

I added nothing and does not synchronize

I am syncing the Super wallet from "0" and its a very slow process. I found that there was a problem on the 5th of Februari 2015. It took my computer a full day to pass that point. After that it's updating with 6 months every day....in my opinion very slow and its using a lot of memory. Maybe it's a good idea to upload the complete blockchain somewhere, because the exchanges are going to have the same problems downloading the blockchain. It is taking me 3 days now and still have 8 months to go.

I cant connect with 3.1 either, added the Supercoin.conf and the nodes from last page, still nothing. Any other ideas?
I would say  that if we would like the coin to have ANY chance at all, we need a easy to use, user friendly wallet, i did not need any conf files for any of the new coins... So maybe that should be the main focus.

Finally got 2 connections after 2h waiting and now its downloading the blockchain, very very slow, hope i wont loose the 2 connections.

There are not enough wallets open and running so the connections are limited.  As more individuals start using Supercoin and more exchanges start adding supercoin it should get better.  I do agree a wallet that has a preconfigured conf file will always be a great help!

For those stating it isn't syncing, unfortunately you have to wait a few hours before it starts.  Even though the coins send in less than 30 seconds, it takes forever to connect to a node to start syncing.  Been that way since 2014 when I started SUPER.  Just let it run with default config and you will be fine.

the blkindex.dat error opening is a corrupted blockchain, you will have to resync it.

as for those people who arent getting peers on newer wallets. the reason for this is windows firewall is filtering the port that the wallet is connected on only allowing a low number of connections through (if any). to fix this allow traffic through the port. i will see if i can find a code fix to this issue. it is not a wallet issue, it is the open ssl lib and windows security measures(not 100% sure but pretty sure).

linux machines shouldnt have this issue because of the way the firewall works on linux.

OSX, i have no idea.

Good luck!
I will watch this topic and i will give my support to super coin.
What is a plan? Who is in charge now?

Good luck. I am a long term holder of Supercoin and I always thought that it was a shame that Supercoin wasn't given the attention it deserves. Glad to see that you guys are taken the initiative. I think what we need is someone who's respectable in the cryptoworld that would give his opinion about Supercoin in regards to Dash and Monero. Would you agree?

Yes I would agree with you @Smoothmold .  How about we try to get multiple youtubers that specialize in cryptocurrency to make Supercoin a topic on one of their future shows!

I would still say that we first need a super stable and easy to use wallet, so whoever is interested can get it.
Then it would be good to be on some decent exchange like bittrex.
And then get some attention.
Or else it seems like a waste of time and effort - getting attention, so everyone can say that its not working.

Agreed!  I believe Griffith is up to the challenge.

possible reasons why the 4.0 wallet wont connect with as many peers as 3.1

-boost lib dep changed
-open ssl updated and a security issue causes less cons
-change with UPNP config which is a huge security issue anyway.

besides these three things there weren't any communication protocol changes / differences between the two wallets. im going to say the boost update has 0 reasons for it. the open ssl might actually leave issues open since the versions are both very old. the upnp config might have also had something to do with it. i noticed i had fixed something with it a while back but never compiled a new wallet as i didnt think it was that big of an issue. it might just be that big of an issue and i will recompile a new wallet tonight with the UPNP changes and test the config file that is posted.

if it is the UPNP config, then something needs to be addresses because someone found a larger security issue with UPNP in bitcoin a while back and those vulnerabilities might affect all of the coins here. i will be looking into the UPNP fix bitcoin did but if anyone has any additional information on that please let me know.

i will also be checking possible port collisions with popular software since i believe supercoin uses a IANA controlled registered port (will have to double check that though)
supercoin does not have any conflicting ports with other popular registered software

edit: if anyone has any desired features for supercoin. please feel free to request
