tl:dr in bold

Hello there!

I'm Daniel Brown from YouMeAndBTC.com. We put out a weekly liberty + Bitcoin podcast and a variety of other crypto content. We also have a handy and popular Bitcoin converter tool that generates a good chunk of our traffic.

This auction is for a total of 25k impressions on our bottom right sticky banner, which will take about a month to fill. The banner appears on every single page unless a user clicks the X to dismiss it for 6 hours. You don't have to buy all 25k impressions. This auction will be very similar to the auctions theymos holds for this forum's banner space. I've placed a modified version of those rules at the bottom of this post.

Why Our Banner Space Is Valuable

We produce genuine, original, and useful Bitcoin content on a regular basis (once a week at a minimum). This allows you to target an audience that is already interested in Bitcoin, but the traffic is far more valuable and engaged than it would be on something like a Bitcoin faucet. We can also geo-target your ads at no extra charge, but your impressions may take longer to fill if we do that.

Ad Guidelines

The space is a standard 300x250 slot. Animated GIFs are allowed. We're relatively open and flexible but we do reserve the right to reject any bidder for any reason. We will turn down anything that seems too sketchy or obscene. Gambling ads are completely acceptable and welcome. If I have to decline any bidders, the space will be offered to previous bidders for the lower price.

How to Bid

Post your bids in this thread. Prices must be stated in USD per 1k impressions. You must state the maximum number of impressions you want. When the auction ends, the highest bidders will have their impressions filled until all 25k impressions are filled.

So if someone bids for 25k impressions @ $5 and this is the highest bid, then he'll get all 25k impressions. If the two highest bids are 25k impressions @ $4 and 1k impressions @ $5, then the first person will get 24k impressions and the second person will get 1k impressions.

The notation "2 @ 5" means 2k impressions for $5 per thousand impressions. Not 2k impressions for $5 total.

- Bids are denominated in dollars but only Bitcoin payment will be accepted. We'll convert using the Bitstamp exchange rate at the time the payment is made.
- Escrow with a trusted forum member will be gladly accepted as long as you pay any fees.
- When you post a bid, the bids in your previous posts are considered to be automatically canceled. You can put multiple bids in one post, however.
- All bid prices must be evenly divisible by $0.25.
- The bidding starts at $1 per 1k impressions.
- Soft end time: 7PM ET Feb. 12, 2016
- Hard end time: After the soft end time, once a period of 24 hours passes with no bids.
I may also choose to end the auction early for any reason.
- If two people bid at the same price, the person who bid first will have his impressions filled first.
- Bids are considered invalid and will be ignored if they do not specify both a price and a max quantity, or if they could not possibly win any slots

If these rules are confusing, look at some of the past forum ad auctions to see how it's done.

I reserve the right to reject bids, even days after the bid is made.

You must pay for your impressions within 48 hours of receiving the payment address. Otherwise your impressions may be sold to someone else, and I might even give you a negative trust rating. I will send you the payment information via forum PM from this account ("tim-tams") after announcing the auction results in this thread. You might receive false payment information from scammers pretending to be me. They might even have somewhat similar usernames. Be careful.

Thanks for considering this! Please just ask if you have any questions!

Ill get the ball rolling

1$ @ 25k

Wouldn't that be $25 since it states $1 per 1k impressions?

25 @ 1.5

let me see if I understood it. 25 @ 1.5 means each 1k costs $1.5?

Soft end time is in about 5 hours. After that, the auction officially ends when there are no bids for a period of 24 hours.
