Hey guys,

today I sent some money to Mt.Gox. So far everything worked fine, but today there was a typo. Instead of using the correct message MTGOX 21473 I forgot the last number. I already sent a message to Mt.Gox but heard that they aren't always replying. Do you have any advises on what to do? I fear that the account with the number 2147 has already received my money.

Please help Sad

They are pretty slammed with emails at the moment.

I have sent a PM to the site owner asking if i can help at all :/

All i can suggest you do is wait for a reply. If you dont get one within 24/48 hrs, chase it up.

When did this happen? I actually made the exact same mistake when transfering a pretty reasonable sum of money to them. Fortunately for me, I could edit the transaction on my internet bank since it hadn't been sent yet. See if you can do the same, and if you can't, call your bank and hope it hasn't gone through yet.

Thanks for your reply guys. I sent him another message.

Unfortunately it was too late to cancel the transaction, so there's just some hope left that he can manually assign the money to my account. Do you think thats possible? I sent him a picture with proof of my transaction and also I already sent some money from the same account so it should be clear to whom the money belongs.

I did the exact same thing last month. I typed "MTFOX xxx" instead of "MTGOX xxx"...
Anyway I shoot them an email and they transfered the money manually to my account.
Don't worry, they are just flooded with emails these days Smiley

Thanks a lot Smiley

I just fear that another person got my money as I messed up the User ID and not MTGOX like you..After all I can just wait and see how it goes.

If someone can answer this question: how much does your bank charge for the transaction, I got a quote of 10$ USD for the sender fees.

Still no reply after 3 days..Sent him another message today. I'll let you know what happens. Would be pretty bad if you can't trust MtGox to solve such simple matters.
