You can follow this on how to request to recover your account. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0If you can provide the signed message to that address and also if you have a signed mesaage when you sold it then maybe that could help recover the account. Send them an email. Also ask the buyer to request for the recovery, he should be the one to know the accounts credential if he really did bought it, if he will not confirm then this will more likely look like an attempt to recover access to an already sold account.

1.Reset your password by Email [try your previous email or if the new buyer has changed the email, ask him to do] 2.You sold the account, did you get paid for it ? If yes,its none of your concern because logically, its not your account anymore. If you're trying to help the buyer ,okay!

I just sold my hero account hdd3go few hours ago. The buyer took the account and changed the password which he used a powerful password generator to generate a new password but unfortunately he forgot to save the password as a results no one knows the password now. The account is now gone. How does it work when OP admits to selling though? It is a interesting thread as I don't think I've seen one say they sold account and need to recovery most seem to hide selling. Even though he admits to selling and buyer forgot password. Sounds like buyer would be one needing to prove ownership. This is one of reasons I tell people not to buy/sell accounts. This sounds like buyers needs to prove ownership and seller would have no rights after selling.

You're saying that I sold my account and now I'm trying to get it back? Okay. I will ask the buyer to confirm here.

Sent theymos a PM following this template but it seems he ignored my PM. Who can help me? -----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE----- My account <account> has been hacked/lost. Please reset the email to <email>. The current date is <date>. -----BEGIN SIGNATURE----- <insert address here> <insert signature here> -----END BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Here is the unedited post where I posted that address: ... OR I sent that address to someone in a PM with PM ID#...

Please help me.
Have a nice day.

If you already sold the account, it's not really your responsibility for the account(unless you want to be helpful). As the buyer stated that this in fact did happen, I suggest you sending multiple PMs to theymos. He's a really busy man so don't expect to receive a quick reply.

It takes weeks/months to recover accounts here so just be patient. Account recovery is pretty low priority since they are due to user error. I would think a sold account is even lower so be prepared to wait.

Probably used a fake email. This should be avoided at all times, lest this happen. I also believe that bitcointalk should have a system that asks you to confirm via email if you want to change the email account linked to your address, because we can avoid this nonsense.

It takes time to recover an account. Just wait and soon you will hear a response from them. Also you can resen the email to them just incase your mail got dumped with new mails.

Buying and selling accounts should be banned anyway..
it ruins all trust and any point in the activity rankings and totally in the trust ratings and feedback section.
I mean if we are basing our trust in a user based upon his length of time here and his previous activities it is terrible that we are now having to guess if it is the same person we are even dealing with.
I mean what if some of the well known escrows sold their accounts? would that not be a serious problem?

Theymos is currently pretty reluctant to restore accounts unless they are actually really needed or high level. There are also more than 5 account restoration request already pending.
