One (bitcoin) is a currency while the other (escrow) is a service. They go good together though.

what currency are you going to escrow if it is paypal there is no need to escrow as you can make a dispute,if it is bitcoin it is ok to escrow I think they go together,bitcoin and escrow as you cannot make a dispute once you sent your bitcoin to the recipient

What the hell are you people on about? I just sold my shack for 25,000 escrows. The guy's already moved in but he reassured me that escrows are a little slower than Bitcoin so I'm golden even though I'm now homeless.

You can't expect us to compare two things that are not on the same category and give you the answer of which is the better one. Escrow it's some sort of middle man that hold the money in between two involved parties (or more) and only release it when the other party have got the item (or anything) that he intended to exchange for money while on the other hand, BTCitcoin is a digital payment system.

You will need an escrow if you plan to buy a Bitcoin from someone who is untrusted yet or you are not familiar, just to be safe. So that means Bitcoin and Escrow not Bitcoin or Escrow. It should be both.

The concept(at least the declared one)  of bitcoin was to create a peer to peer transaction but as humans always corrupt stuff for their own benefits we are seeing all these escrow's.However, both of them can be abused depending on the benefits.It's like do them but be careful always.

Bitcoin & Escrow goes hand in hand, when you dealing with a unknown entity. In the case of PayPal, they act as the middleman between you and the other customer. The same goes for Bitcoin, when you have to deal with a customer you cannot trust.

Just make sure you use a reputable escrow with a good track record, when you choose one.

well usually people compare paypal with bitcoin all the time, and it is the exact the same comparison as the OP, because you know that paypal is an escrow right?

so if it make sense to compaare those two, then it make sense what OP is aksing, but in the end escrow is a vital part of bitcoin

I thought the thread about using Bitcoin as one half of an Escrow deal. The poster described a way to release a Bitcoin payment by using any two out of three signatures. It meant that you could use a trusted 3rd party to finalise a trade.
