Hi there! New here. So I can only post here.

In the big forum our fellow member mjc offers his book (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=133136.0). Which as a newbie thought appropriate to buy for bitcoins in also DRM-free EBUP format. Makes, sense, doesn't it?

I could also buy for a prepaid gift card through Amazon.com, if it were sold in my country at all. But what I really want is to buy it for bitcoin in a DRP-free EPUB. Do you think it's appropriate?

I know where and how to buy coins, how to secure a wallet, etc.

Ps. On which forum engine does this forum run?

. . . Ps. On which forum engine does this forum run?
If you simply scroll to the bottom of your browser, you'll find that it runs on SMF 1.1.17.

I considered delivering it somewhere that accepted BTC.  However, since it was geared toward newbies, that might not already know how to function in the BTC world, I went with Amazon.  It was easy to deliver on that platform.  I have been toying with the idea to put it in print, but I would have print it in Black and white and then charge $9.99 USD just to break even.   I thought that was too much for the book.  I wanted the price low and didn't do it to get rich.  I did have someone edit it for me.  She was a god send, as I made all kinds of stupid grammar mistakes in the first few cuts of the book.  My cousin created the cover for free, last minute, when I realized I needed one.  The cover I made sucked big time.  I'm not graphically inclined.

That said, I'm open to all ideas to get it out into the public.

Also, I cannot do anything until Feb 3rd.  I enrolled it in KDP Select which means I have to have it there for 90 days.  By doing that the book can be loaned and if you are an Amazon Prime member you can get it for free.

Once that is up I can remove if from KDP Select.  While it's enrolled in KDP Select I have agreed to not deliver it in any other electronic format.

What country do you live in?  I did select for it to be delivered world wide.  I know I have had sales or free downloads through Amazon in Japan, India, Canada, Germany, UK, Spain, Italy and Brazil.

I have two more free days available.  I was going to save one for when ASIC are released, no matter who releases them first.  I know that saying that will probably kill my sales, but who cares.

I can say of the 300 who received a free copy I have had zero in donations.  I assumed by the time they got set up, they just forgot about it.  There have also only been one review.  The general feedback has been positive from people in the forums.  I know I generally don't review book on amazon, so I'm not too worried about that.

If there is enough interest, I'll make it free again before ASIC Delivery.

Any feedback is welcomed.

Hey mjc,

Thank you for your kind reply.

As i was advised in the other topic (http://bitcoin.stackexchange.com/questions/6107/bitcoin-step-by-step-kindle-edition-by-michael-caughey-worth-buying), bitcoin evolves so fast that a print (even though it's not a print) book cannot cover it enough(?). So that is your book to promote it.

And how do you know from who did you get donations from in bitcoinland, as here is everything anonymous? Wink

Anyways, looking on the table of contents I'm not quite sure this is what I am looking for now in the first place.

I'm looking for two things:

  • Understanding how the bitcoin network runs, having an easy to read guide on that, then how to set up my wallets it's better to decide for myself after that fact is known. I know, the bitcoin community is heavy on paranoia (hey, I read it on this forum), I just like to keep things simple.
  • Learn how to do business on OTC

But at least it's a DRM e-book, isn't it? I don't know much about Amazon's policies but as far as I know all their books are DRM(?). I'm from a smaller country, not Amazon's target market, actually so anonymous that I am not a real person, either. OK, just stay with them for 90 days now!

Donations are not completely anonymous.   That said I have received zero donations, which implies no one has sent me a donation.  So it makes it pretty easy to know who sent them to me.  :-)  I'm not that worried about it.  I had one suggestion previously that I make it free and just accept donations.  The problem is people do not donate.  So until I cover the editing fees its on Kindle.  BTW I make so little on the book, it'll take a while.

If yo do not exist then I'm not sure why you are interested in a book that does exist.  :-)  Maybe you can sneak into a country that does exist and buy it.  I hear that is pretty easy on the internet.

As I said I've seen the table of contents. But that's not much info to decide if that is what I need now or not. Looked on your blog too. I think for a writer the best way to market his blog is if he just writes killer content on his blog.
