WTF is going on here?

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/45f6gb/just_a_little_bit_history_who_is_daniel_s/

Someone at core hired this shady lawyer to spread blatantly false FUD just to scare classic supporters?

This power struggle is getting ridiculous.

Core just lost 5 points for attempted intimidation tactics, +5 classic for not being shady

I know who I'm supporting now, thanks guys!

Blockstream is getting more and more desperate. Their whole business model depends solely on having full power grab on bitcoin’s development.

I saw Gregory Maxwell stealing candy from a child! These Blockstream guys have no shame!

I heard Blockstream's real plan is to block out the sun, forcing bitcoin users to buy electricity from their power plant!

Won't someone please think of the children?!

You guessed it. Blockstream = Montgomery Burns. Bitcoin solved.

https://bitcoinfoundation.org/guest-post-fincen-guidance-validates-bitcoin-industry-but-targets-satoshi/

Below is a guest post from Dan Friedberg, an attorney and friend of the Foundation. Dan and I were having a drink and discussing the implications of FinCEN’s latest guidelines and, as usual, Dan hit on some interesting points. So, I asked that he write them up to share with you all here. All thoughts and opinions, brilliant or otherwise, are his own.

Who is the "I" in this summary? Jon Matonis?

https://twitter.com/jonmatonis/status/698054548930232320

Since I was logged into my Twitter account, that 2:02 CST. Is Jon on holiday outside the US or does he function outside normal [US] working hours?

Jon Matonis, Board Director, Bitcoin Foundation

Matonis is one of the Founding Board Directors of the Bitcoin Foundation and currently serves as the Foundation’s Executive Director.  He is an expert on digital currencies and his research has been published by Forbes, Dow Jones and the London School of Economics.

Bitcoin is a very hot topic amongst the online gambling industry and Matonis is very good at explaining how the currency works and the benefits of adding it to your iGaming business.

When: Saturday, 15:00-16:00:  Bitcoin: Friend or Foe?

Affiliate power panel speakers- David Gzesh, Jon Friedberg, Jeremy Enke, Itsik Akiva & Steve McLoughlin

This A+ panel is a “must attend” for anyone interested in the regulated US market. All five of these people are excellent, seasoned speakers and they bring different points of view and experience to the same table.

Gzesh is moderating the panel, a lawyer who has been involved with the business since the early days and has even done his time as a poker network operator.  Enke, Akiva and McLouglin have been in the online poker business for years and Jon Friedberg was the first (and remains the only!) affiliate to receive a license to operate in Nevada and New Jersey.

When: Friday, 14:00-15:00: Expert Panel Discuss How the Change in US Regulation is Affecting Affiliates

Yes, Jon Friedberg, not Dan or Daniel Friedberg, with at this posting I'm not sure if there's a connection, thus leaving it to others to beat me to the punch if such is the case.

Hi everyone,

Hive is looking for a business law attorney who can work with us on a future, Bitcoin-based fundraising event. He or she should be able to deal with encrypted email and (of course) accept Bitcoin for services rendered.

Interested parties, please contact w@grabhive.com with relevant details and your public key.

Thanks!

PS- We met Daniel Friedberg in San Jose, but he seems to no longer be affiliated with Graham & Dunn. Anyone know what happened to him?

when you need to hire a lawyer to make up FUD. then obviously the illogical code and infrastructure doomsday debate is not convincing anyone. so they need to look outside of their wheelhouse of logic. and enter the realm of fake law

whats next.. health scare that 2mb can cause cancer?
how about it rotting your teeth?

the real funny part.. if we did believe in the fincen fud.. guess what..

the 1MB would be the minority (as thats the consensus that made the fork happen) and it would be the 25% head-in-the-sand crowd that would find their coin less useful and clamoring to exchange their head-in-the-sand coin for the more popularly accepted coin. so that would make the 1mb the money transmitters trying to sell their coins while the majority just use the coin as usual without swaps

lol friedberg doesnt appear to be a specialist.. just a person paid to make a statement.. so try not to think of him as specialist..

hense why my footnote says "legal specialist". and not "random lawyer"

So we have proof that he was paid to spread FUD? ... If I were really clever, I would hired a shady lawyer and ask him to write some obvious FUD like

his article, to create the perception that he was hired to discredit the other side, knowing he would get exposed. This will then make my side look good,

because I will look like the poor victim.  You have to give credit to these people, they know how to play dirty games. They should go into politics.  Roll Eyes

Is politics that green stuff or do I have that green stuff mixed up with something else?

Meanwhile, ...

https://klout.com/JonFriedberg

I've yet to connect the two, but both Jon Friedberg and Dan (et al.) Friedberg are heavily into the poker and Bitcoin scenes. Taxing my memory from a search a few hours ago, I did see a relation[ship] between the two namesakes with Jon being 47 and Dan 45 (years of age). Help from Brother -Fuers would be appreciated, with free haggis at the end of the hunt.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that Jon Matonis has held an audience with both Friedbergs.

Classic is shit, there's no need to hire anyone to realize that fact, just look at reality for that, it's pretty cheap. Core devs have developed everything of importance in the full node and Classic devs are famous for... trying to double the blocksize, that's all. That's why Toomin will never be a lead developer, Classic team hasn't proven anything of value.
