Look at MyCellium combination with hardware wallet.  One of most popular would be MyCellium and Trezor - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1298917.0

It is perhaps best mobile if you want security.  You get all the features of your Trezor wallet and mobility of android.   If you are just keeping daily spend in hot wallet it's not needed, but if keeping more it's worth looking into this combination.

I'm not willing to buy a hardware wallet honestly but for what comes to Mycelium , I was going to use it until this (the orange text) :

I'm not sure what does it mean , but if a server controls our funds . I don't really see the point of using it on the first place .

if you won't a "server" / third party control your funds/privkey then you should never used any online/mobile wallet apps, they are controlling our privkey.
just use a client wallet which only you controll the privkey , noone else.
however here are the best android wallet based on popularity so far :
1. Blockchain of course
2. Coinbase
3. Mycellium

The Schildbach App (aka "Bitcoin Wallet" for android) verifies in a decentralized fashion without the need to trust a server.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.

Most softwallet (those that sync very fast) is centralized. I dont mind it being centralized as long as the developers is people that I can trust. I'd say the best Android wallet (at least for me) is Mycelium. Been using it for more than a year and have never encounter any major problem - only problem is that the speed is a little bit slow.

So sad! This profile does not appear as the #1 result (on anonymous) Google searches anymore.

Time to be active on the crypto forums again? Proud to be one of the few Legendary members of the Sparkie Red Dot!

Gonna put this on my resume if I ever join a cryptocurrency/blockchain industry!

Well If we take Electrum for example , It's sync very fast (Lightweight wallet) however It connect to servers but .. in the same time they don't have access to our private keys .
So I want something similar without the need of downloading the blockchain . Bitcoin wallet (for android the one based on Bitcoin Core) need to download the blockchain ? I guess not ? I don't see how it will download 50gb in a phone .. :/

So far Mycelium is best for me. When it comes to security and storig coins, it's number one on my list. I also have a blockchain and coinbase app installed in my phone. Also my main wallet for daily uses ofcourse coins.ph.

No, Mycelium works similar to electrum (connects to their server) while the schildbach app works similar to multibit (connects to different full nodes and gets certain information, but not the entire blockchain). I personally use both. Mycelium e.g. can enforce a Tor connection via orbot. The schildbach app e.g. works great with testnet coins.

Im not really here, its just your imagination.
