Hey there, I wondered whether any of you are debanked here? Meaning, you ditched the bank and stopped using their services. Cheers

It is impossible, without a bank I can't even sell and buy bitcoins, and buy things online would be close to impossible

Yeah, it's just not possible yet, I certainly don't keep any money in long term though, the only reason I use banks is if I can't get what I want in Bitcoin or for receiving money from other sources. If Bitcoin were to become much more widespread and you could even pay for utility bills or buy stuff in regular shops with it then I'd dump the banks immediately.

Unfortunately no. It's not possible in today's modern world.
Maybe in 10-15 years..

Yes, and it's totally possible. Ignore those guys. There is varying degrees of difficulty but there's a whole movement around being "unbanked" Go watch this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aTU5M36_zXo

Fortunately no, I'm not unbanked. I don't see how being unbanked could be something positive in today's world.

Ask the stranger he knows who you really are.

Couldn't your employers pay you by cheque?

Just started thinking that it must be a real hassle to stay debanked... I wonder if that girl from the video has really been debanked for 2 years  Huh

Since 2009 I've lived 5 years without a bank, 2 years with one, and am currently newly bankless again because of developments in bitcoin technology (Debit cards, etc.)

I should point out that I'm an entrepreneur. I organize events, do freelance writing, design games, do sex work, model, organize art projects, etc so being self-employed probably gives me some freedom that other's don't have to decide when I want to use a bank.

Its possible but restrains you to a life where you may need to make extra jumps to get from a to b.
Most people that claim to be doing this are usually living on a hand to mouth more than planning for the future.
Otherwise they would realize they have nothing saved making interest for retirement.
